    What's your favorite pepper sauce?

I've got that one, EL YUCATECO sauce, at hand all the time. And several Gee Wally has lined up. Not too fond of sweetness of Siracha; but sits well on fish sticks; not too fond of fish sticks either ;) I find labeling at times humorous. Salsa, Picante, kutbid-ik are redundant would't you...

    What's your favorite pepper sauce?

Habenaro and Datil pepper sauces #1 and #2. #2 only because it's so scarce; online order only and usually out of stock. Scoville rating be damned, it's the flavor that makes them #1 and 2. Datil pepper sauce has a flavor unlike any other. Habenaro is a bit similar in flavor. Both garner...

    question about davemade amps

Really! There are actually organized shouting matches? Thanks for your response. I should have been more explicit. The original post spoke of "there is no RF keying circuit in the amp". The further I read the dimmer the light became. Ive a 2 pill (M80) Dave Made with a variable. I presume...

    ½ wave dipole height

I've always read 1/2 λ minimally. Along with that reading comes a lowering angle on the horizon as a full λ is met. Best I recall is 15 and 10 degrees; and, the width to 1/2 power was 40 and 25d, respectively. The lowest angle on the horizon is met at just shy of 2 λ AGL at an unremarkable 8d.

Mho as in Larry, Curly, and Mho :) Mho must have been the complicated character. Thanks for that bit of education.

1/2 wave Inverted V Dipole Antenna

For general edification, radiation patterns of the dipole and the Inverted Vee: The 180d dipole nearly spherical with NUL points at the element terminal ends. The maximum radiation pattern emulates a monster truck tire around its periphery, and decreasing across the sidewalls to the NUL axles...

1/2 wave Inverted V Dipole Antenna

Do you have trees on your postage property? A tree limb 18-23' AGL is fitting for a nearly invisible I-Vee antenna. I say 23' to accommodate the 5' vertical depth of the I-Vee; therefore, the entire antenna is 1/2λ AGL. Your choice of 20w will work splendidly for 16 AWG wire or up to 12 AWG...

    Which 11 meter dipole antenna???

Where is Rocky Mount, HOA gated cesspool? No offense intended; but, what does that mean? Aluminum only?

Nicely done. You didn't make mention of SWR issues?

    Base Imax 2k issue

Have experienced change SWR my self. Application of crush washers was first and retuning 2nd. My shift not quite so drastic ~2.5. Self adhering silicon tape on rings 3rd measure taken.

Shipping costs are out of hand!

A Solarcon I-Max is obtainable for $170 shipping on 8'+ packaging jacks costs to an additional 50%. Not familiar with Moxon antenna led me to site speaking of 14-14.350 Mc. What is Mc? Google no help. Other than "fast food frequency pairs".

Adding SSB to AM amps - how is it done?

Am I muddying the 8 pill FatBoy waters on SSB while driving with it with a driver amp not so enabled? What is the benefit of having an amp with SSB enabled? "Sounded Like Kornflakes", what's that soggy flat mush?

1/2 wave Inverted V Dipole Antenna

I'm a Fan of the I-Vee antenna, for it's compact GoBag nature. I use 12AWG for open air suspension and potentially 1500W output.. Hardly need 12AWG for 5.5W. 5'/12' by my calculator is 113 degrees which in my book is quite good for directionality. My bug out rig is enabled for both 90 and 110...

was watching twilight zone last night

Fascists bikers from "outer space" would in keeping with today's political environment. Several remarked on an earlier era of bikers, from "Happy Days" and The Fonz (Henry Winkler) era bikers. Not those that would bloody, maim, and kill for pleasure such as those sociopaths assembled at Jekyll...

    Sirio 27-4 vertical project

The debate remains generally two sided. My experience places me at the other table. The I-Max is a dipole when it is anchored on the ground. When it is elevated well above the ground it is a monopole, detached from its necessary other half. The 1/4λ SS radials are my effort to provide a...

    Battery backups for base

Pure sine-wave power I believe is applied to AC power, only. Could be wrong. A couple deep cycle DC batteries, a 100W solar panel (8A charge rate) maybe two, and 15-20A MPPT charge controller should be adequate for reserved power consumption. Should you choose MPPT then two panels to achieve...

Triumph Rocket III; 140CID, 140HP, 158#'. 0-60 3.7 secs. My favorite of all time. Road mine with rear fatty (car tire) trying for a year, before having to change it out. Thought it would give me more than 6 months, it didn't
