27.235 MHz. After the move to 40 channels this became part of the regular band as channel 24. Back in 23 channel days there was often an unused spot on the channel selector, and people would put in 22A as an 'extra' channel.

Finally made the connection with 399 from Colombia. You were sounding great up in British Columbia JJ ! up to S7 at times. Amazing strength considering it's a distance of 4,152 miles. A little QRM from the Mexican taxi dispatchers on the channel, but 100% copy for the duration of the QSO.

Absolutely booming up here today ! Nearly 20 contacts in the past hour.......Massachusettes, New York, Pennsylvania, North and South Carolina and lots and lots and lots of Florida including a 12 watt maritime mobile station. Fun!

It's a work day here but I may be able to sneak away and try the radio this afternoon if I'm lucky !

Remember all these Anytone and Radioddity radios have autosquelch, so you won't hear anything in AM or FM mode with the squelch control all the way off; you have to turn it up to about 15 or 20% for the squelch to be open. Turning it further clockwise it will act like a normal squelch. Full...

Something not right there. You should have 0 watts SSB with no modulation. If you are getting a 4 watt deadkey on sideband you may have a problem with the balanced modulator in that Saturn. The BM needs to be carefully adjusted for 0 watts unmodulated in both LSB and USB. The other thing...

That's what I use on the rare occasions I use GMRS. Up here in rural Western Canada the four LADD channels on VHF are much more populated and tend to have somewhat better range, especially in areas with heavy forest or rougher terrain.
