If you guys think you're old think again. I turned 79 last July, My wife is 68 and looks 40. Our doc has us on testosterone and HGH. These meds are available at pharmacies in Colombia without a prescription. They give your bodies what it needs to stay young. It should be that way in the US...
You guys think you're old . . . think again. I turned 79 last July. Other than some knee pain, I'm still 100%. My doc has me on testosterone and HGH. My wife is 68 and looks 40. We still have a great life together. I don't know how long we can hold on like this, but we will keep on keeping on...
This isn't about family, but it is about neighbors. When we lived in SoCal, our next door neighbors were Korean. They had one of those little dogs that continually bark, and are annoying as hell. That dog was outside in their backyard and barked 24 hours a day, drove us crazy, and they did...
This came up on EBay this week. Anytone ARES II base radio. Obviously not a factory product, but reasonably well done

Same thing here. White noise almost all day. I tried calling CQ, and opened up a hornet's nest. Multiple stations coming back to me. People are out there, but are sitting on their hands waiting for someone else to key up.
Great dx yesterday afternoon and evening. Australia, Hawaii, New Zealand, and all over the western US. Super long QSO with 406 in Salt Lake. His Icom 7300 was rattlin' the windows in my shack. Nice to have a good DX day once in a while.

I ran an original Antron 99 with a GPK when we lived in SoCal back in the 80s. 36' to the base of the antenna. When we moved to Georgia in '95, I put up the A99 w/o the GPK, but with a CMC coax choke. Added the GPK at a later date, but never heard any difference. I imagine the IMAX2000 would be...
Good to talk to you , CHris. When I finished talking to 765 S. Carolina, I heard "808 Delaware" above all the rest. Nice Qso , always good to talk with you. The pleasure was on this end as well. Looking forward to the next time.

I was pedaling as fast as I could. but no cigar. I thought I heard 226 come back one time, but you were in the pile and I couldn't pull anyone out. We had morning thunderstorms and I wasn't able to get air time until right at 11. Three guys on 37 watching and talking about the Masters hogging...

Please post pictures of the board (top and bottom). Have you hooked it up and tested it ?? Depending on whether if works and sounds good on the air you could sell it, strip it down, or pitch it. Your choice.

Evidentally all you were getting was long haul skip. Which explains hearing the UK stations. I'm surprised that I didn't make it to San Angelo, 'cause I talked to operators in Austin, Abilene, Dallas, and Odessa. You're kinda in the middle of all those towns. All of them are around...
Where are all the WDXers hiding ??
My wife had people from her foundation at our farm this weekend for some sort of meeting. This gave me an excuse to spend the entire weekend DXing. I was on the air Saturday from 12noon EST 'til 6pm, and from 12:30 pm EST 'til 6:00 pm Sunday. I logged 33...
A lot of operators are running a class C AM amp on SSB. They have no Idea that their signal sounds like crap.
BTW . . . Channels 36 thru 43 have been booming into Colombia the past several days.

Hard rain off and on all day here. Finally caught a break a about 4pm ET so connected up the antenna. Hooked up with 605 BRAD in the Lonestar. Nice 20 minute QSO. Then Denver, St.George Utah, Honolulu. San Jose Calif, & Tucumcari, New Mexico. Conditions were up and down, but no trouble holding a...
I've never heard anyone refer to a quad 6 as a POS. All of the quad 5s and 6s I hear on the air sound excellent, and their operators speak highly of them. What was the problem with yours ?? I'm thinking about getting one and I'd like to know. Thanks 73.

Thanks for responding. I am in the Republic of Colombia, South America. On a farm up in the mountains (5600' elevation) about 200 km North of the city of Medellin. Hope to hook up with you on the air soon. 73.
