Remove R322, D63, and R115
Attach a wire from the hole left by R115 that connects to J28 F1:
The other end of the wire goes to the hole left by the anode of D63:
Then on the solder side of the board, solder a wire from the hole left by R322 that connects to VR8 and a constant 8v source -...
I agree, it would be nice to have a single standard, but as far as I am concerned, you can blame the IARU for that.
By 1981, there were millions of radios out in the public and the vast majority of them (CB's), used -67dBM/100uV/+46dBu for S9. Even amateur radio makers had different...

20KB 20k linear taper
To get this to fit in a 148GTL, you will need to make some mounting/fitting modifications.
Another option is to use a Cobra 2000 clarifier. It will give you a...

Audio (Log) taper.
"76Q-10KA" - the "A" indicates an Audio or Logarithmic taper. "B" would be a Linear taper.

On your drawing of the mic adapter, it says Cobra 4 pin.
If your Turner is using the stock internal wiring and the mic plug is wired for a Cobra 4 pin (or that is what you want it wired for), then pin 3 & 4 are backwards on the Turner mic plug.
Turner +3 4 pin mic plug wired for a Cobra 4...
LOL Pez.
A lot of things have been talked about in this thread. Specifically, before my #76 post we were talking about using a SINAD meter to test the radios RX sensitivity.
In post #76, I was specifically talking about calibrating (CH-11) FMRSSI and (CH-18) AMRSSI.
You quoted my #76 post in...
Because these service menu settings were from brand new radios not previously owned. There was no assumption being made. The same reason I gave as to why I couldn't use mine... mine was used.
DO NOT DO THIS! IT WILL WIPE OUT YOUR SG (in my case, my TinySA). Do not use a SG to set the FMRSSI or AMRSSI! You have been Warned!
Connect a Dummy Load to the antenna, put RF power @ max, key the mic on FMRSSI & AMRSSI to set the TX meter for carrier on FM & AM.
Jeff,
May I suggest a possible solution?
If you want the Clarifier to slide, here's how to do it correctly.
You have several things going on, the clarifier is putting out too different a voltage which is why you can't tune L27, L28, and L29. And the Alignment is off.
If you want the...
Sure I can do that but I would like to "calibrate" the FMRSSI & AMRSSI first. I sent Ken@Qixiang an email 4 days ago requesting the calibration settings for both, but I haven't heard back from him yet.
Let me clarify. "High Noise floor" is a misnomer. The radio's "appear" to have a high noise floor due to a S meter calibration issue that started somewhere after your low # 176022258 radio and before 176022258~380. The sensitivity is fine, on par or better than my other radios. Just the S...

Remember, FCC type accepted SSB base CB - No exports or modded Bases.
I have had a lot of FCC 40ch SSB bases but "purely on asthetics" it is the DAK X.
Six Shooter is right. Those 4 big meters and all the smaller lights put it over the top. Thick Brushed Aluminum 3U face and...
