Yes. All of the CB finals, AM and SSB, use the same leg configuration. It can be also used for the MRF 477, 497 finals if you know the leg configuration and get the right legs in the right holes, EBC CBE..........Some of the older rigs used a different type of final but again if you know which...

High quality knock of Toshiba 2sc2879?

I have often wondered why someone running in the competitions didn't make a dry ice cooled box. That would keep the transistors WAY under 25 centigrade. Call them "Superconductor Boxes"

    XForce 1KW supply voltage.

Sorry, I didn't read through all the posts before posting. There are to-3 can voltage regulators too that can run 3 amps and not have to use three 1 amp regulators.

    XForce 1KW supply voltage.

No, just make them sound like a jet fighter taking off!

    XForce 1KW supply voltage.

Transistors that run the fans... Are you sure they are transistors and not voltage regulators to keep the fans running at a steady speed? Can you read the part numbers? 7808 8volt 7812 12 volt these are positive regulators, the "79's- 7908 7912 are negative regulators.

    Amplifier SSB switch?

Delay of the relay switching between TX and receive. Changing the value of the electrolytic cap from the keying transistor to ground will change the length of the delay. Larger value=longer delay. I never needed a delay as I worked as an auctioneer.............. He didn't either...

148gtl NW ST Soundtracker low AM power

Hi, Go to the CBtricks site and look at the schematic. Trace the path from VR10 to the collector of the driver. Look along the path for a electrolytic cap to ground. If you have an ESR meter test it or just pull it. Once pulled try again.....

This isn't an "APP" but more of an old fashion piece of test equipment. I took an old 23 channel radio and brought out a transistor socket to the outer cover from the final spot on the board to test finals without soldering in. Cheap! Pulled the radio final first of course. Reason: Cheap...

148gtl NW ST Soundtracker low AM power

Was this a "new to you" radio when you put it on the shelf? Lots of people turn down the AM power to run an amplifier. VR10 adjusts the AM power out/dead key.

148gtl NW ST Soundtracker low AM power

HI 7861, There was another symptom you don't seem to be taking into account: The dimming not so bright hi low display. I would start with a check of his power supply. Does it supply a constant 13.8 keyed or unkeyed? He said power out didn't change no matter how he "Tuned it". As I recall...

    Sams PhotoFacts Collection

Hi TM86, You had me checking if I had the right CB photofacts number. I guess you just mis-typed 274. Since I started playing with CB radios I have used the Sam's manuals and like their format. I believe I downloaded your information and have it in my files. Thanks again for the info, it may...

Wanted: 3 sweep tube or larger mobile amp

HI, I know this is an old post but you said you didn't have the cash when you posted so it has be over a year now. Maybe you have some cash now. I do have a Palomar 310m in working condition, between 3 and 400 watts out, 100% tubes. I also have a D&A MDA200 and a D&A Falcon 400. If you...

    uniden bearcat 880

They can be tuned a peaked but the labor involved is not worth it. If you wanted to do it to your own radio for your own satisfaction and have some older junk CB radios around for parts swapping it can be done. Basically you remove the fixed coils in the transmit chain and replace them with the...

    TDA2003 amp getting hot

Handy Andy, I'll kick in a beer for you too. I have a newer front mic 29 with a different set of symptoms but the cure was the same putting in the 47uf cap in the unfilled cap spot. In this 29 there was no black wire. The audio was fine as long as the volume was low like listening in a home but...
