    DX 2547 Red Wire Mod?

Among Hollywood’s highest paid voice actors, so I’ll disagree. It’s all in fun. So you want the Louisville Larynx to do his own narration, okay. Any CB guy you have to figure has a developed ear. Maybe he works at the Cronkite 126-wpm cadence vs the normal American 165-wpm. Might color ones...

    so.. I tried the npc

Best descriptive word, IMO, is that we want the words in our TX to have punch. We’ve all experienced what some operators achieve by design or by accident where they simply come through better than do others. A whole long list of reasons can apply. After spending the best part of a day reading...

    DX 2547 Red Wire Mod?

“ . . butcher from interstate container”, (that’s one for the ages). You got my interest on the mod, I’ve tried reading around, I’ll see if I can’t find a video or something with convincing before/after audio. And I get other observations about problems as scoped.

New Here. Studying for my Technicians’ License. Equipment Questions

Welcome. A radio that debuted in 1999 may have quite a history. Have you run thru the owners manual and put the radio through its paces? Some might say not to do so until other inspections are done. Those ought to reveal any non-factory work. Good luck with all .

    RF shutting my truck down

Thx for update I bumped thread as the subject seems to get potentially worse (RF Interference with Vehicle) due to passenger compartment devices. Is the way I’m reading things.

    DX 2547 Red Wire Mod?

Bump. Part of an NPC-RC done in one fashion, AFAIK. Short of convincing audio, I’m not seeing the free lunch (SSB unaffected). Looking for opinions

Whoever said good fences make good neighbors, didn't live next to family!

I think maybe you’re just running antenna coax thru that attic and you rented a trencher to lay antenna radials Hot, dirty, sweaty & smelly keeps nosiness away. Time to get that tower up .

Sideband mobile CB with best/most audio

Not really. I crank the amp and chase ‘em down to tell them that THEY are off-frequency. You must be one of the new guys, hadn’t picked up that little trick yet. .

High praise. Including that by kopcicle in another thread, (BEST FCC CB RADIO), makes this one worthy of a bump. Anyone else? Preserve & Restore (that this is one of those radios). .

    Beads, Ferrities ?..

This approach became my choice after a few tries at DIY. A higher one-time expense — at three (3) positions on a big truck cophase harness — for a radio system in constant use made sense: at the transceiver, and at the antenna feedpoints. Now part of the quietest radio system I’ve had, and...
