I believe you are correct, it was a few months ago. I have been traveling out to Midland and Monhans a little lately, but I have been taking a different way making the trip there. I was through San Angelo about a month ago but it was all quite at about 10 a.m.
That was pretty neat. Thanks to 339 in Kentucky. I have been close to San Angelo a couple times recently. Ballinger is probably about the closest. One day hopefully I will pass through San Angelo and make a direct contact with you.
I have traveled many a mile this week. Lots of time to play radio, but not too many contacts. Maybe 10 all solid contacts all week long.
Last night I was woke up by thunderstorms around 11pm near Colorado City, Tx. The radio was a little busy
I made a good contact with radio Kentucky 105. I had...
Thanks for letting us know Jeff. I was wondering about him and noticed he had not been on in quite some time and he was on here frequently in the past.
Sad to hear. RIP Robb.
I have tried a few different setups for an antenna on my pickup. A mag mount worked well but it was too tall.
Currently I run a Hustler HQ27 mounted to the front of my tool box. I can't really say whether it works any worse or better than the mag mount. My swrs are no higher than 1.4 on the cb...
Friday was real busy on the walkie-talkie as I made my way from central Louisiana to central Texas. I made a few contacts. Signals were coming from many parts of the U.S.
Yesterday back home just about nothing. I made one contact on 28 AM to northeast Arkansas and that was it.
I didn't have much time yesterday for radio. I took my old car out for a little while. Then I was mowing weeds and spending time with my mom.
I did get few good contacts yesterday.
I talked to a couple of stations in Seattle and talked to Jim 66 in New York.
Of course there were a couple of...
I listen to podcasts on Spotify and the Art Bell show was on my recommendation list. It is still as interesting today as it was back in the 90s when I first started driving a truck. I remember searching for the show trying to find a strong AM signal. Another radio show i love is the Phil...
I know people just seem to love motor mouth maul's audio, but I much prefer Deerslayer's.I have talked to him a couple of times. His radio is top notch
I actually had a couple of contacts from North Louisiana to Georgia and Florida yesterday morning. Those conditions dropped out fast though.
It is extremely quiet back home in South Texas today.
I got the rear-end back and my mechanic friend installed it plus a caltrac system with split mono leaf spring.
I finally got to take the car on a quick trip again. Everything seems good so far. I put about 150 miles on the new rear end now.
I took this picture on my drive. That sign was there...
Well I had the car on the road for a little while, but had a bad vibration at times. I wound up slinging the driveshaft.
Anyway I went the right way and had the rear end rebuilt. I went with a 3.55 gear, so I should be fairly happy with that and the 700r4 transmission.Caltracs has been added...
