The first thing I would do is re-check your bias settings and make sure they are correct.(May be too low) Then check your AM Lo carrier pot and AM Hi carrier pot and make sure they are adjusted correctly as per the alignment procedure. 1-3w on low 8-10w on high.
I talked skip for about 3 hrs on 38 LSB.. Worked over 50 stations. Mostly north of my location but did work a couple of mobiles in Texas. Sure was a trainwreck on the band today. After that I slid down to 20 AM side and worked more northern stations. So it was a great day!
Nomad. He said he manually keyed the relay and had RF output, He also stated that the finals were good. So that eliminates the RF chain. Problem seems to be in the keying circuit. It seems that keying the mic is not causing the relay to engage, yet when manually keyed it does and everything down...
When there is no skip rolling in on 38 LSB I usually hang down on channel 20 AM side and talk with the local guys. I heard this guy in Monterrey Mexico calling for me. Thought that was cool because I don't talk dx on AM. I went back up to 38 LSB after we talked, but it was dead quiet.
The resistor IS the biasing resistor. It connects to the base of the transistor and pulls the base of that transistor downwards and sets the operating DC bias point below the cut-off point in the DC load line so the collector flows less than a 180 degrees (half cycle) of the AC signal. CLASS C...
Crambone. You cannot wire a 4 wire Turner plus 3 to a 5 pin Cobra 2000 unless you add another set of contacts in the microphone to switch the receive line.
They are talking about the IMD here. I wouldn't use the spec sheet as "the bible" so to speak. Use it more as a general reference only. If you do some research you will find that the test jig Toshiba used for the 2879s had no feedback circuit. Secondly, our radio specifications are measured in...
Yes, That is all copper. It's new. It has the strips on the transistors base so the resistors can go from there to the ground to keep the conduction angle correct, seeing class C generally needs negative bias of some kind.
