Update* so far I am impressed with the radio itself. Battery not so much I think I was sold a defective one as one of the TD3 batteries starts dying the instant it's off the charger. Goes to 2 of 3 bars and I've not even keyed up. This is no good. I may have to send back the two pack to Amazon...

Gents a question. If I was to mount this on the boom of my VQUAD beam.... Would the antenna survive? I mean I understand one would not have the GMRS radio on while dumping 1KW 10m radio waves through the beam but in that scenario would the little GMRS antenna be unhurt when I was to use it...

I've just gotten two of them today. We will see how they get on, so far they are more user intuitive than my UV-5G Plus GMRS and easier to use abiet mechanically more difficult with my giant sausage fingers.
