    New 32 pill is a dog :(

You can always send it to BBI.... You'll have a 1 year+ wait but whatEVER the problem is, he'll figure it out and make it right.

    Cobra 148 GTL

Did you buy it new or used? What the manufacture date on it? It could be as simple as a old, weak/bad capacitor in the circuit.

    ADS

I'd rather spend $25 every two years and know exactly where to find the info or get instant help vs spending nothing and having to hunt info for hours/days/weeks as happened with CBT. Info is free, it's the time and knowledge getting the info that cost.

    11 meter is very quiet?

Well, had a first yesterday.... Talked skip to a guy 75-80 miles away, he was booming and falling out with everyone else on 38LSB. Didn't even know that was possible.

    What Size Amp?

This 2 pill would do fine for you.

    What Size Amp?

Get a box with a variable, then you can drop the DK at the box with no worries. Been awhile since I did it but I "think" with the variable on my box turned fully counter clockwise, I can hit it with 10-12 watts PEP and maintain the 100 PEP out DK.

    Wild & Crazy Idea

When a normal CB hand sees "10/12 meter" they think HAM radio. They don't have the slightest clue about the type of radio used, much less "just designed as CB radios with extra frequencies and power." If it's not a 29LTD, 949/959 or the such they think it's HAM rig. Most of them don't even...

    UV5r and GMRS

Linears aren't "type accepted" for 11 meter yet there are literally millions of them in use there, we even openly discuss them on this forum.... Same with 10 meter radios converted to 11 meter, they're not "type accepted" but again, there are millions in use on 11 meter and again, we openly...

    Question of triple can capacitors

As @Justme stated, as long as the voltage rating is there, you're good to go. 90+% of caps will not be their stated uf anyway.

SWRs increase as RF power turned down

Has your rig been worked on? If so, has it always done this or just started? What antenna and coax are you using?

SWRs increase as RF power turned down

Reverse or backwards swing is referring to the output power....usually from too high of a DK, too much drive into the amp, a poorly tuned radio or amp, assuming the antenna is resonant.

SWRs increase as RF power turned down

All of my amps do this, 1.5 SWR with DK set @1 swinging the rest, but they drop back to normal as soon as I modulate to 1.1 SWR. I've never worried about it as I don't hold a DK for more than a second or two. My DX500V is the worst at 1.8 then dropping to 1.2 on modulation. As for the "cause" I...

This is a sign you might be OLD!

Hard times create strong men, Strong men create good times, Good times create weak men, Weak men create hard times.

I cant hear anything unless my finger touches the wire on the channel selector?

Touching an electrical component with your finger (usually) adds capacitance and or resistance to the circuit so you may want to check the caps and resistors related to the selector.

Crude frequency alignment of SSB using only a second radio....

After Andy and Kopcicle's last post, I believe I'm far better off just letting people with the right tools take care of it for me. Thanks for the excellent info.

This may be what you're looking for? It doesn't list the board num so I'm just posting it in case it is.

    Convert a 1X4 into a staged amp

Thank you sir. I found this picture a little while ago in a FB group, does this look right to you? If it begins to look a little too aggravating while testing fitment, I'll just leave her as is.

    Convert a 1X4 into a staged amp

@999 yes exactly. I've dug around but haven't been able to find a useable guide on how to do this. @9C1Driver It's a Donkey Stomper 1X4.

    Convert a 1X4 into a staged amp

Well...The title pretty much describes what I want to do. How difficult is doing this and what do I need to complete this task? I would like to be able to run my 99v2 on this amp but it has a bit too much drive, even with padding. I would also like to be able to run lower output radios as well...
