The list is for a different radio. Some of the settings need external equipment to generate the value. If you select the parameter without the corresponding signal going into the radio, the value will be zero and your radio will become a door stop.

Is it in backwards? Aside from that, you should be able to put rated voltage across it all day long. Once it charges up, it should stop drawing current. But the heat means it's doing work, very strange indeed.
