Click here to find out how to win free radios from Retevis!
The radios have a nice big screen that can be configured several different ways in the menu. The radios also have a robust feel to them that reminds me of the high dollar Motorola units that we use at work. I would not be afraid to drop the HA1G on the floor.
Big thanks to WWDX, Retevis, and everyone who liked my picture. I won two of the HA1G hand held radios in the September contest which surprised me because I never win anything. Unfortunately due to a hiccup with the currier in China, I did not receive the radios until November 6 th.
Here is the...
If the radio is sounding crunchy on ssb, my first guess is that the output bias is set incorrectly. The best way to listen to your transmit audio is with a second radio with headphones and no antenna. This is a great way to adjust the mic level too. The first thing to try would be to reduce the...
Kens has everything, and if you don't see it listed then give them a call. They have a lot of inventory that is not on their website.

@Brother DXer thanks for the contact. Conditions on my end were going in and out, along with a few big operators doing their best. By the time I got to my mother in laws house, the bottom had dropped out. Try again tomorrow.

That looks like a nice unit, and the price is right. I have been looking for something to put inside my 2547. The built-in DSP in the Anytone, President and Stryker 955 has spoiled me. My noise floor is between 5 and 7 pounds on any given day.
On the off chance, I just flipped to 16LSB and talked to 415 Texas! The QRM is really bad, but he said that he was talking on a 23 channel radio that he just bought for $15, and it's doing ten watts!! That just makes my day!
Wow, how did they even get the screws in? Quality is in the dumpster, and it's a shame to see them going down hill. I really wish they could have Anytone build them a few radios....
This one looks interesting, and about the only bjt that I see.

That would work as long as it doesn't short anything out. You might be able to make a form out of a small block of wood. Make it the size of the inside of the box and fold the sides down around it. And of course we would like some pictures too.
I have thought about using the package that a single 9v battery comes in. The clear plastic that is attached to the cardboard could be separated and cut out to make a battery compartment. It might be on the flimsy side, but would probably work.
Definitely stay out of distortion/ clipping. Putting 5kw on subs that are only rated at 3kw puts a limit on how far it can be pushed. The charging system will only let me go so far too, just watch the voltage. The clip / distortion limit can be different for each song too. I fly by the seat of...
