My watergate youtube channel. Check it

Congratulations. Why do you still read and reply to so many CB related posts? Oh, to remind us how reformed and pure you are now? If I were to guess, you are probably one of the people that I can't stand listening to/talking to on the HF bands and make me keep coming back to 11 meters.

Mix and match connector types on a single piece of coax?

Any reason you can't have a PL259 and an N connector on the same piece of coax? I recently installed a Collosal 10k in the top of a 90ish ft. tree and used a 150 ft. premade piece of Times Microwave LMR-600 with PL259s preinstalled. I need to cut the excess 50-60 ft. off and put a new connector...

New to CB radios, trying to find a kit to build a 8 pill linear amp.

Yes, these are designed for CB use. The largest amp or kit they sell is a 1000 watt version, which if your dad has a 6 pill isn't going to do more output than what he already has. Also - an 8 transistor amplifier isn't going to be a major upgrade over a 6 transistor amplifier - maybe 200 watts...

New to CB radios, trying to find a kit to build a 8 pill linear amp.

The only kit CB amps I've seen in a while are these: https://rocketboxelectronics.com/ These are MOSFET transistor amplifiers, however.

    Texas Star DX1600 from E-bay

This was my recommendation to my friend as well. I think he was eyeing the Texas Star because it's in stock and most builders are backed up right now being near Christmas and propagation coming back recently. Thanks for the feedback.

    Texas Star DX1600 from E-bay

Anyone know if the new Texas Star DX1600s being sold on e-bay are good/legit? I had heard something about fake transistors a while back. I'm OK with HGs, just don't want to pay for some unknown/junk transistors or if I should avoid these latest gen DX1600's all together. This would be for a...

    ZEROFIVE cOLOSSAL 10KW Antenna

The owner/builder says not to make any adjustments to the primary element or radial lengths (assemble using his sharpie marks and leave the lengths alone) to affect tuning, only to make minor adjustments to the sliding tuning cap at the bottom. Antenna resonance was a bit below CB channel 1 on...

    ZEROFIVE cOLOSSAL 10KW Antenna

I just put a Colossal 10k in the top of an ~80 ft. tall pine tree. It's over 100 ft. high to the tip. I need to have my tree climber go back up in the next week or two to adjust the tuning capacitor at the base of the antenna (I never should have touched it in hindsight, but once on the 10 ft...

    Modified Vector 4000

Speaking of modified Vector 4ks... I have an upgraded "10kw" gamma for a New Sirio Vector 4000. I purchased it thinking I was going to try one out and then never went that direction. If someone could use it, I'd send it their way if they covered shipping. I still have the USPS box it came in so...

Nope. Definitely not legal here (Texas). I've been trying to get the power company, FCC, ARRL to help me for about a year now. Very slow going...
