    11 meter is very quiet?

Lately, all I hear on is my neighbors grow light ballasts or whatever the hell is in their house generating deafening RFI.

    only on lower dead key

How are you checking the TX frequency? External counter/meter or internal?

    This piqued my interest...

I'm still not even that impressed with the noise reduction performance in the latest and greatest SDRs (Apache Labs Anan running Thetis, Latest Flex series using SmartSDR, Hybrid-knobbed radios like TS-890S, FTDX-101D, etc.) so how is some CB accessory going to revolutionize noise reduction...

    Help understanding my antenna analyzer

I use a similar antenna analyzer as OP. I look at the whole picture. Impedance, reactance, SWR, return loss, factor in things like velocity factor of coax used, etc. Who are you trying to stump or impress? My original reply to the OP is that his antenna system is obviously not tuned for max...

    Help understanding my antenna analyzer

Yes, I did say I won't run anything higher than a 1.3 on my antenna systems. Are you trying to say I shouldn't bother tuning my antenna systems for max efficiency because "most hams" don't? Or that you're the first person to recognize that antennas can momentarily change in tune when they move...

    Help understanding my antenna analyzer

I wouldn't run any radio with anything more than a 1.3 SWR. Your radio is looking for a 50 ohm load, and you're giving it a 30 ohm one. Pickup or big rig? Can we see some pics of the antenna install?

    Can you mix coax types?

That's a lot of extra impedence dickering and losses. What kind of amp you run in a Texas attic?

I give up! What would these be used for?

Well good. I wasn't trying to sell you one.

I give up! What would these be used for?

Here's a cheaper one that comes with some antennas and accessories https://www.ebay.com/itm/Portable-100khz-To-960mhz-TinySA-Tiny-Spectrum-Analyzer-2-8-LCD-Screen-Battery/383716375373?hash=item5957473b4d:g:kLIAAOSwl5dfW9nm

I give up! What would these be used for?

Walk around the yard or neighborhood looking for noise sources? Significantly higher-tech and more accurate than using an old battery-powered AM radio.

    FT920 what MOD is this??

Sorry, a little CB geek humor. I'm very curious if anyone else knows what that may be for. Could be a repair or a mod of some sort. How does the radio work? Have you tried it on AM/SSB, etc. ? I hope you didn't get burned, I remember your recent thread where some of us were persuading you to...

    FT920 what MOD is this??

Doesn't look like the 920 MARS mod requires anything like that. So no idea... Looks like the inside of a "comp Cobra 29" Does it walk the dog and kit that cat? Maybe you have a limited edition "Competition tuned FT920"

    Experimentation of (CB)

I've been hearing bluegrass music broadcast for YEARS via skip in TX where I am - literally seems like the last 5 at least on the regular 40. I'm fairly sure the guy transmitting the music I'm talking about is broadcasting it on 4-6-8 channels at a time sometimes too, and it's not bleed over -...

    Stryker 955 or a Ranger2995

I would advise you to be a little patient and save up $800 or so and watch qrz.com or QTH classifieds for a gently used Icom IC-7300. We're only talking a little more than you are looking to spend ($500) the difference between a IC-7300 or an export CB in receive, transmit, capabilities are...
