BammBamm sorry to hear you are not happy with your DX949. I got mine about 18 months ago (it's actually a refurb from one of the online shops) and have been very happy with it. Hope everything works out.
I'm glad to hear someone is getting in some DXing. I heard a guy in Panama the other afternoon for just a minute and then he was gone. Other than that it has been quite here in central MS for the past several weeks.
Thanks Beetle. From the testing I have done when running the radio barefoot, (legal 12W on SSB) it does not effect the HVAC unit. It's kind of hard to talk very far though on 12 watts and a dipole antenna in the attic.
Okay guys, I am going to make this as short as possible. Here is the situation. The evaporator coils, furnace, blower unit and associated control circuitry of my HVAC unit is located in the attic of my house. Because of the covenants of our subdivision we are not allowed to have exterior...

I have a Palomar (so it says) TX-150B. Does anyone have a schematic for this unit. The output transistors are a pair of SRF2072 transistors. Thanks in advance for your input.
Well I hope it doesn't get quite that bad. But I do look forward to the opportunity to talk to people in other places. I was big into CB in the late 70's and early 80's and had a nice collection of QSL cards that over the years got misplaced. I wish I could find them to see all the places I...
I just wanted to thank everyone for their input and to pass along an update. By re-arranging my radio setup and doing a few other things that were mentioned on this forum and others I have been able to reduce my RFI on channels 1 thru 40 to around 1 S unit with out replacing the Pyramid...
I need your assistance and suggestions. I am running a Galaxy DX 949 on a Pyramid Heavy-Duty PSV-300 30 amp Switching DC Power Supply. My noise level on channels 1-19 usually runs about 4 to 5 S units and channels 20 -40 usually are around 2 to 3 S units. I borrowed a friends no name 5 amp...
It was rolling in Mississippi last night around 7:00 pm. There were guys on alot of the AM channels and CH 38 LSB was really crowded. I keyed up barefoot and called CQ and had guys from Florida, Texas and Louisiana coming back to me. Of course at the same time we had tornado watches and...
