I have had the Pacific coming into Ky pretty good lately around 6 to 9 or 10 pm est. Lots of TE from South America as well. A few stations in South Africa but not real strong. Key is to just listen lol.
My Ft1000d is my go to ssb rig for 11 meters. I get great audio reports on it. The FT1000MP MK5 is a rig that a lot of operators I work are running. I really like my FT1000D for ssb. Like a very smart gut once told me if you want to sound hood on AM 11 meter get a CB radio lol.
Good conditions out of the Pacific this evening. Made several contacts into Australia New Zeland French Polynesia and New Caledonia. South America was also coming in a little earlier. Looks like Europe is opening later in the morning and not as strong as the past few months.
Back in the late 70's and 80's I had a set of 2 element Wilson V Quads stacked side by side and they worked very well. There is a station in California still running the same set up and does a great job.
I work in the utility industry and if you want to put your tower near those underground lines you can do that. You just have to excavate carefully and don't damage those lines. I have 2 towers about 40 feet apart with large yagis on them and no issues with interaction between them.
No cable amp on the pole just the transformer. I am well aware of how pole numbers are placed on this company's poles. This is a rural Co-op so not sure how well it will be received. We shall see.
Ok folks I am having an RFI issue. I have narrowed it down to a pole mounted transformer that belongs to the electric company. Has any one here delta with this issue before. If so how did it go and what did you do. Thanks for any help.
I use an Alpha Delta switches with all my radios antennas and amps. No issues with any of them so far and have ran quite a bit of power thru the set up.
