All 2 pills are low drive if you want long life. As to your 2 pill, it should be possible to attenuate the input. ( basically big resistor going to ground to bleed off input drive). Chances are input will have to be retuned.

Brass caps are still used. But with a 3 port combiner. That fixed 150pf is really close. The LC part can be manipulated slightly to optimize.

One thing I will say about biasing HG’s. It’s tricky. 0.5- 0.55v is max bias for HG. At 0.55v they are turned on hard. Full conduction. Actually have to just barely bias so not really turned on, just before they turn on. That should tell you all you need to know about device.

Bob85, I know it can be done. I’ve done similar in past. But I don’t recommend it for everyday use. Some of these guys are telling guys it’s ok to run them like this all the time anytime they are on the radio. I’d rather have headroom and longevity.

The chip capacitors work fine if the right one is used for the application. That’s what manufacturers use on FET’s, LDMOS and the like for RF generators and on broadcast modules.

I’ve seen a lot of those input circuits on Johnboy and Eaglemade tetrode amps. Work well if done right.

DEI and Toshibas Tune a lot different. So the entire amp will probably have to be retuned.

You might be able to jump a turn and get it flat on input. Just a thought
