Per Channel Modes? Per Channel HI-CUT, NR, NB, Echo, Rodger Beep? YES!
i made a discovery using the K band bank for custom channels. K band has 39 channels. i was using Band K's ch 40 (K40 heh) for VFO. the other 39 i have 27.400+ in 5KHz steps. anyway, i noticed 40 could be independent on...
thanks. could you elaborate please?
if i click the channel dial, 1 diget flashes. pushing up or down on the mic it goes 1 digit at a time. i have the menu setting to 5K.
"Frequency tuning step: 100Hz, 1KHz, 5KHz, 10KHz, 100KHz, 1MHz"
is the 5KHz steps for Amateur bands? manually tuning (VFO?) clicking the tuning dial, i've only been able to do single digits on the AT-5555N II.
[EDIT] i've found 'Step' in the menus. set it to 5K but it still doesn't work.
@WK766 you are welcome. i know they set the S9 of the meter with a certain dB of signal. that is only one point on the meter.
i wish i had the test equipment to to test weaker incoming signals from a signal generator.

my radio usually has an S5 and at times S7 noise floor in my neighborhood. most modern households have multiple USB/Laptop power supplies that act as hash/noise transmitters. if the Chinese power supply manufacturers can omit filtering to save a few pennies, THEY DO!

@loosecannon many thanks! i have been researching fighting Common Mode Currents with chokes for the inverted V i plan on building, and it got me thinking of my mobile.
i'll pick some up for sure. looking on ebay for 'Palomar Engineers' i only found a seller called 'bobsezshop'.
cheers and 73

i have a Wilson 1000 installed on the hood of our Honda CRV.
noticed that moving the cable around in the car affects the SWR.
before i trim/tune it, should i put a dirty choke on it? like a piece of PVC.
appreciate your thoughts on this.
/thanks and 73
many thanks. i'll probably tune around there as well. seems like 27.420 - 27.505 LSB are popular here in the Colonies. a lot of the European calling frequencies are using FM, but i'm guessing if they want to do DX they'll use SSB.
i don't want to highjack the thread. so... are there any...
one thing i wonder about 26.285
according to HFUnderground that falls within 'Remote Broadcast Pickup (Studio Transmitter Link or STL)' service 25870 kHz to 26470 kHz, and 'Over the horizon radar' OTHR band (WRC allocation, may be secondary in some areas)
26200 kHz to 26420 kHz ranges. are we...
a very good point. i've set mine on my AT-555n II to 2 on Tx when i'm moving in my vehicle. if i think of it, i disable it when stationary. i plan on doing some audio tests with my 148 "soon".
