I just wish Uniden would wake up and just put one of these fancy faces on a real ssb radio like OLD Uniden Grant XL. Hey Cobra did with the 29 and 25, why not a new face on a old standby Like the Grant XL? Imagine that nice frequency counter with the expandable characteristics of the Grant?
I have installed the TRB1 and TRBX2, but I wondered what was different about the X3. I like the TRB1 better than the X2, both have mic preamp gain pot on board but the TRB1 have a more controllable echo/selectivity. I guess I'll just have to throw a X3 in some thing to see what's up.
Galaxy!?
If you are aware about the better rx qualities of a cobra 29, dare I ask why in the world you would spend the money on a galaxy 94 rather than a cobra and a nice amp, and probably cheaper in the end?
just old cobras
Well if you call some of the best ssb radios ever built worthless, I really don't what to say. But you would be very hard pressed to find any thing made currently that could compare.
Maybe I should just go ahead and do all the labor myself, then send it off for alignment. Problem I have run into is the shop asks what the radio is and then say no, too old.
I have a few old cobra/dynascan radios I would love to have gone through, restored. Is there any shops around that actually will do good work on the old stuff anymore?
