I bought the PDF direct from Sam's some years ago.. looks like Brandon has you covered tho. If what you need isn't in there, I can upload the PDF for that radio.
edit: I had 2 copies, the first they sent was too dark so I asked them to rescan the document and they obliged. I've included both.
Thanks, I have that dual final upgrade printed out somewhere, I might try it. I guess whoever upgraded the modulator didn't get that far, as it only has 1 final in it. Yes, there are silkscreen designators for the supporting parts of the second final. I can start a new thread instead of...
Okay, it has the different transistors in those spots, but tr52 I can't make it out, and i havent located r295 yet. The face just says 148gtl and the rear plate is gone. I think it's a dx model, but the faceplate is wrong. It has to be, after doing some looking around the Internet. Not important...
I opened it up to verify, it does indeed have a large 2sb817 PNP pass regulator. HOWEVER, the schematic calls for a 2sa1012 PNP which is smaller. I suppose someone replaced it along the line, it is an old radio, but it IS a 148 with a PB010 board and, so far as I have gathered from that, the MK2...
I have only had the privilege of peeking inside one 148, and it's near (not exactly) identical to the exports I seen. It does have the large pass regulator. I assumed it would take the diode peak swing mod as it is so similar. Maybe the large transistor has been changed, but it's still a larger...
Guess not, I thought the mk2 148 was the original export model copied by others. Sorry. I have a 148 with the large pnp pass regulator. Maybe it was a mistake.
I miss discrete thru-hole stuff, fishing with my grand-dad, waking up with energy, feeling like life was wonderful, being feral, last call, money and being my kids hero.
My wife and I keep him alive often, when he would go out to do the surveys, "did everybody here come to see WCW? Or, OOOR, did everyone come to see the n.W.o? Survey says, one more for the good guys." We do the double OR thing all the time and giggle at each other.
Hey yo, Chico. Nobody messes with the bad guy. So sad he passed, he and DDP were my favorites and he had turned his life around with the help of DDP and his yoga.
Ya know, when you're nWo, you're nWo 4-Life brotha. It's just, too, sweeeeet. I also miss the sound of typing on the Commodore 64, and loading programs from cassette which i always thought was the coolest thing.
Napster, WCW, floppy disks, Windows XP, the 80's, the 90's, arcades, riding in the bed of the truck, Surge, Bigfoot pizza, recording songs from the radio onto cassettes. And looking under the cap to see if I got a free coke.
Oh yeah, this is getting printed and put in the binder. My binders are full of words of wisdom from these guys. You can't find better information on things like this anywhere except here. Good stuff on this forum, to the very last drop. I'll take a refill please and thank you.
I powered one up tonight, it has the 5V regulator and current tops at 31ma with an 8V input, 5.04V out from the regulator. Increasing input voltage further, up to specified input @ 12V, creates less than 2mv increase in regulator output and zero ma current increase. These measurements conducted...
I have some rg316 I need to find a use for, it's kinda thin and sorta flexible. I can terminate it with bnc at the end of the enclosure or I could wire it direct into the amp. Couldn't the RF DC output be used as a relative signal strength into a volt meter?
Thanks for that, I see the mcx male end would be what I need. I should have one by Friday so that gives me time to work on the enclosure. I think I have the copper pipe already so, off to the workshop I go. Then to work on a power supply for it. I'm new to active probes and you have been most...
