    Maco 300 tubes

Yeah, ain't it great? Aside from the possibility of death from electric shock, these sweep tube amps aren't that scary, once demystified. The hv transformer only had 3 wires on the secondary, 2 on primary, so im not sure its the factory installed xfmr as there was no low volt secondary...

    Help identifying this amp

It's a 1x4 tube amp. Missing a driver tube, 7 pin, with 6jg6a finals. Other than the markings on the transformer, I see no other. I see many like it, but haven't found the exact model yet. Thanks for looking.

    Question

We must sometimes make assumptions when doing this. Doesn't always pan out like we thought. I don't know about that model, and didn't have the schematics so I assumed it was close to a 29ltd as far as the power input and referenced that.

    Question

I thought it is a reverse protection diode, not an over-volt diode. I would think the diode has no impact unless it is only rated for 13.8 volts and blew shorted. I can't imagine what is left. That switch should turn it off if it's good. Id leave the switch disconnected and try it. If it doesn't...

I'm trying out the Google translate as I only speak English and broken spanglish. See if you can get more information like what was changed and any original issues, etc.., you know...

    Question

Id definitely check the volume knob on-off switch pot. Maybe the contacts were fused.

    Paco V-70 VTVM info

I got a cover page, a schematic page and a spec page. I've heard of a much larger, more complete material floating around and figured someone here could have it.

I'm curious if anyone here has the full service manual for this, or some calibration information. I found a 3 page resource on the net but another forum mentions a complete manual circulating in .pdf format, have you seen it? Thanks, CG

    Maco 300 tubes

Okay, I will check and see if the transformers are daisy-chained. If the 26v is coming just from the added trans, I could also take my needed driver voltage from the original 12v winding, assuming it is still viable. Would keep the different voltages more isolated I guess.

    Maco 300 tubes

It appears the 26v tubes are used for drivers too. According to measurements, all sockets provide 26v AC to the heaters. The low volt transformer has both 13v secondaries tied in series to produce 26 volts. One of the drivers are shorted and must be replaced. I have 2 6LF6 tubes, 6 volt...

    Maco 300 tubes

Hi, I'm looking at the above amp and the final tubes are not 8950s, instead 26lx6 tubes. Now, the 8950 is a 13 volt tube, and the 26lx6 states, well, 26 volts, with less current draw. The transformer is supposed to put out 12v for the heaters, I haven't checked yet. I'm studying tube amps right...

    Alternative uses for CB items?

Looks like it washed up a ditch from a heavy rain lol. Clean the radio or rub some dirt on the lamp.
