Last week I found a link to an estate sale being run by a local company.... and the ad included "CB Equipment". So yesterday I thought I'd go take a look.
I put these on the table at the checkout and the clerk didn't even slow down..... "$20 each".
Sadly, it does not show the colors.
THis is in CB-51 The ProNiner is the same as the TRC-49. Even says it on the cover. I hope this helps. Say hi to Steve!!!!! ;)
A related question.
I just looked in the SAMS for the C-2000.
The schematic shows the final to be a 2SC1969
Does THIS MEAN that the NTE-236 is a workable replacement????
If so.... I think that would make this one of those "holy grail" things....
I can't remember.... I hope links to products are okay......
{edited to add}
Okay the link didn't work... apparently something blocks it when I paste it in.
HERE is the product name so you can search it...... (the typo on spelling is THEIRS not MINE. I left it as it is... so it can help the...
Last year some time, I met up with a guy at his house over in Channelview and he let me prowl through a van in his yard. What was special about this van is.... it was the van bought and turned into a mobile CB Shop by an old friend starting his business at a local truck stop way back in 2017...
Just for fun.........
the "change in swing direction"......
what do you think you did that attributed to that? TO clarify... what do you think took it from "backward swinging" to "forward swinging"?
(I am still trying to work out a better understanding of "drivers/finals" and...
I am still there.... but I am a pretty quiet operator. I don't make much noise. Mostly comments with real personal friends and family... but I DO wade into a few CB interest groups from time to time.... help where I can....but I refuse to "engage" in bickering...... I am a huge believer in...
"euro schematic"
What is that?
And.... when it comes to printing big copies of schematics and marking them up with map pencils or markers.......
You mean...... somebody besides ME does that????????? :D
Hey Dan,
I have not dug back to look.....
Have you ever posted a compiled list of the CB-XXX volumes that you are missing?
I for one... could see that as being handy... when I see a volume available either letting you know... or getting it and DONATING it... so that you have a more complete set.
I am a member of a number of "groups on Faceybook" and "forums on the web". I see people who "want radios fixed". I see "well meaning folks" get devolved into arguments about what is best, what will work, what won't work.... then comes insults... then comes name calling......then come the...
So, if I understand this right ... you would STILL see "immediate carrier".... but it would be 'off frequency' until the VCO catches up..... hence "the chirp"!!! and the modulation would appear once the "catch up" is done. Does that sound reasonable?
Does it take that long before the carrier show up?
Or is the carrier there RIGHT AWAY.....but the modulation shows up late?
I think that the transmit side is "shut off" when in RCV.... so it could be a delay in a mixer or some element in the transmit chain starting up....BUT... you would see...
In fact... the negative makes sense when I think about it.
The transistors are NPN.
The emitter is grounded.
The positive peaks of the incoming RF will be shunted to ground through the P-N junction.
But the NEGATIVE peaks will still be there (THAT is the rectification is that you talked about...
sneaking in a 'post of thanks'....
@loosecannon @brandon7861
I have always had a bit of a weakness in the area of 'driver and final biasing'.
I was fairly sure about how bias worked on SSB rigs...being that it is generally Class B...
But Class C biasing on AM rigs... was a little bit of a...
Agreed.
If the meter black lead is for sure on a good circuit "signal" ground.... then the cathode of D64 absolutely should pull down to near 0 v. If it doesn't something is wrong.
Another handy number I would like to have is the collector voltage of TR26 when it is IN and the radio is in...
