Is it safe to assume that this is a legitimate Turner RK-56 ? I'm not familiar with them, this guy supposedly has 4 of them, each in a white box, no clamshell hanging package.
I was thru Lordsburg NM a few times recently, kept my eyes open for pixie dust and certificates, even used my douchebag whistle, no response.......anyone ever able to see the dates on those certs he waves around ?
I have no idea what that means, other than I'm happy that it's on your bench !!

Thanks guys for all of the suggestions. OT03 has my other similar radio now, so when it gets back this one will be going to him immediately.
With regard to mic gain, I keep it up all the way with an SRA-198, because occasionally someone will say that my audio is low, usually while dx'ing.

It seems very high to me also, so I keep it turned down unless I hear the airwaves open up and I'm trying to make contact.
I have always assumed that these guys with high power gear have things tuned to where they don't necessarily bleed over. Am I wrong ?

It was pretty live in N Ca on 27.285 for a few hours. Talked to Ga/Al/Tn and heard Ky/Va/Carolinas. Not sure where Ricochet is at, but he was over the top of everyone when he keyed. Six-pack was making a fine trip as well.
Tractor has 10, jeep n dollies have 48. We are 131' long, 12' wide, 15'-7" high and 235,000 lbs with this particular combination. It's a pita reading a Tx permit, and they really don't know their own bridge heights. I run a high pole at 16'-1" under many bridges marked 15'-9" and clear by 3"-4"...
