    Uniden PC122XL - No Transmit

If the radio does not TX in SSB, look past the AM regulator. The TX achieves RF power in stages. The final, is just that, the final stage. If the stages before the final are operating, you can see a small signal from the exciter on a spec an or using a second RX. The final is TR538. The pinout...

    Uniden PC122XL - No Transmit

I would check the final PA transistor. The conditions, that it was subjected to, could have caused it to fail. It should be a 2SC1969 or 2SC2312. Another thing I would do first, is see if you have any exciter power, by using a second receiver or spectrum analyzer. If you see signal fro the...

    Yagi waterproofing ideas

coax seal is butyl rubber mastic tape. Is is softer than the stuff we use n the industry, but if applied correctly, it will work the same. ALWAYS use a layer of black tape under and over the mastic.

The discount code is sitewide. I am curious about their WX station also. It looked a lot like the Ambient Weather stuff, which is pretty good. I think you missed the Amazon Prime Deal though, which was crazy cheap with the discount.

    Yagi waterproofing ideas

It is also a nightmare to deal with, when serviceability is concerned. In the wireless industry, the process is a layer of black tape, a layer of weatherproofing tape (butyl rubber mastic) and an outer layer of black tape. Early on, we used Scotchkote over the outside layer, but found it was not...

    Kenwood TS-430S repair

Your AM filter, is a Fox-Tango, which then became International Radio (INRAD). It is an 8 pole discrete crystal lattice filter, which is physically larger, than the Kenwood filter, so it needs to be wired in. It is a much better filter than the stock Kenwood filter, so consider yourself lucky...

Have you tried using the 10 Hz tuning steps? Your radio may be off freq from the display. You also did not say what version radio you have.

For the sake of learning ! Germanium vs Schottky Diodes

I find it to be better, which is why I ALWAYS replace with germanium.

For the sake of learning ! Germanium vs Schottky Diodes

One more note on this subject. The germanium detector cannot "bring in more noise". What I did find, was that the smaller forward voltage drop, overloads the already too sensitive AGC circuit. The end result of better RX with schottky is a myth.

For the sake of learning ! Germanium vs Schottky Diodes

The main difference in this circuit is the forward voltage drop, which is slightly lower with a schottky. The original design used germanium, which cost more than schottky. Then the genius RX mods came around, that use schottky. I have found the germanium to work better and remove schottky's and...

    Anytone 6666

What is wrong with the clarifier? It either works or it doesn't. Which version of the Q6? The original Q6 clarifier "center slot" is at around 3 o'clock, not 12 as one might expect. This changed in the Pro version.

    Silicone on outdoor RF connections.

I wouldn't use it. In most cases, silicone (RTV), contains acetic acid. No bueno......I have been using DB Prods Vapor Wrap (butyl rubber mastic tape) for at least 40 years. Applied correctly, never a problem.

What year did the HR 2510 go into production?

I recall it to be 1988. My HTX-100 was made in 1988 and the 2510 was out on the street before it.
