That is the plan. My call starts with a leading dit, which gets cut off by the slow TX/RX turnaround. I don't think that makes me serious vs casual. But speed may be an issue, but either way, the leading dit or dah will be cut off, either completely or partially., which is unacceptable to me...
I have available the new updated release Workman W58, with reinforced bottom section. It is a true 5/8 base station antenna. Best bang for the $$$ out there right now.

I was told about the FW, but was told no ref osc adj for user, just "pro". Maybe they changed their position? I don't know or care. 20 Hz frequency error is nothing on any mode the radio supports.

The "N" is a Negative or REVERSED DCS code. If the Icom does not support rev DCS, you are out of luck. If you are able to duplicate the code using the polarity modes, you want to look at the DCS deviation of the Icom. Can the radio decode?
