Scary Snake Radio "Setting Up" President Lincoln II V3

Yes. It's nonsense. Consumer electronics sort of entered a realm where you could charge by the hour, but it was decades ago and short lived. CB radios never entered that realm. Even Tim tries to convey that but in more than a few of his own videos he has shown a timer for x hours then come up...

Scary Snake Radio "Setting Up" President Lincoln II V3

I am charging too little for my services. $100/hr is unheard of in the industry. Especially for techs. I would love to get $100/hr. LOVE IT

Scary Snake Radio "Setting Up" President Lincoln II V3

I am sure he can do that. To be fair, not everyone can do surface mount. They may lack the equipment, they lack the skill.... Both are remedied. Equipment is getting cheaper all the time and skill, well is practised.

Scary Snake Radio "Setting Up" President Lincoln II V3

0:45 thru 5:00 is COMEDY GOLD. Accidentally recorded a phone call. $100 per hour to repair surface mount radios. Does all the radios the same BUT! needs money up front because he cant sell a radio if someone backs out. 10 weeks? Yeah right. Here is the part that is blatant BS... If he does...

FCC Proposes $18,000 Fine in Louisiana Amateur Radio Interference Case

Well, if that is what he was doing - singling out one person - and this person is listed on this website of his... Well, gee wiz. I think we know where that case is going.

FCC Proposes $18,000 Fine in Louisiana Amateur Radio Interference Case

That's true. In this case the waffle is doing it for one reason: to be a dick. Nothing more, nothing less. The guy is predictable. He will do it again.

    "Volt Modding" Mosfets

Lack of understanding voltage vs current controlled devices. There is no magic one all be all gate voltage so that one you need to put out of your mind first. If there was then there would be no need for proper bias regulation. As far as the power supply to it... volting has consequences for...

FCC Proposes $18,000 Fine in Louisiana Amateur Radio Interference Case

His quote: From what I understand and I may be wrong here but he was trying to talk simplex to someone on the output of the repeater? A repeater he knew was there and was going to hear it. Now, the quote above says... I would think the repeater, which greatly extends the range of mobile...

FCC Proposes $18,000 Fine in Louisiana Amateur Radio Interference Case

Is he serious?? "Defining new standards ...." That's right because we need trolls in either radio hobby. And this one is trying to belittle and slander people on a website. The guy is unglued and his defence against interference is laughable at best.

Whats the model on the HP?

    Test equipment question

If you can list specific pieces of equipment you have we can tell you what else may needed to keep that equipment safe. For example, if you use a communications test set that can handle 50 watts then you can connect that to the radio directly. But if you use a Rigol SA, then you need an RF...

    Test equipment question

If its generating audio - mic jack RF - antenna. Just don't transmit into your signal gen unless it can handle it. Scope? What are you measuring? I have not looked at the alignment procedure so I am going to guess RF? You need an RF sampler like a Bird 4275, etc.

Where in the world is... HardDrive?

Yeah, it's rapidly entered my fake news category where I ignore it. It's turned into a mudslinging contest where the victim isn't even the subject. As "fine tunes" would say in his condescending manner.. click click.

Where in the world is... HardDrive?

Come on man. Look at what you posted that purportedly came from Mikes Radios... And it came from his customer. Let's recap. Mike makes a video about a problem for his customer to explain said problem, sends it to his customer privately. Who knows what else was in the video. Private...

    Blown Up Anytone AT-6666

Well, matching MOSFETS for RF use is a fairly complicated beast. This is why they stick to much simpler means of matching like I said before about using a curve tracer. That will probably get you close enough. When you start getting into RF then load-pull is one test to perform. None of these...

Where in the world is... HardDrive?

That may be but since we can't see the entire video I guess you have to wonder why it was private too? What I am guessing here is that you edited the video to represent your views and those of Fine Tune CB. You have done that with a lot of your videos. A lot of them are fake news. Propaganda...

    Blown Up Anytone AT-6666

I asked a friend of mine and he won't do it. He already has the parts. Said they are "bullshit snake oil" not worthy of his time since he is getting out of anything CB related as it is.

Favourite radio shop to deal with

It's happening all over. It started in the early 2000s and it's been accelerating towards the bottom. Less people coming in is an issue because they prefer instant messengers and those that do come in get sucked into a culture of "moar watts" that the decent shops simply won't indulge.

Send them to Mikes Radio Repair so he can make a video. I have seen his address around on the forum.
