    Damn boys, we’re famous!

Why would anyone need an antenna analyzer to buy a CB radio? That's beyond ludicrous.

Then why don't you just come out and admit that some of these "Fine Tune" assertions are indeed a con game. Don't keep defending it if you don't feel they are worthy.

Dealing with customers can be difficult. That goes for any business.

I have gotten a few laughs on these 8 pages. The last one got me to curl up :)

Ok, that made me laugh. A lot. I needed that on a Monday morning.

They could claim bias. RealPorkChop has made it clear he works on radios. The only way this could be truly impartial is from someone that did not work on radios. I mean no offence to anyone nor am I challenging anyone's honesty or honor. I still think it would be miraculous to get one. I will...

What I thought was an 8 to 10 was actually around a 6. This is why you don't try to ballpark this by ear. You can't.

    Damn boys, we’re famous!

I am using an E4433B to generate the signal. Cable is just a piece of RG8X. nothing fancy. ~2 feet long or so. They are saying it's wrong yet calling these "Amateur radios" which I think is wrong. They are designed as CB radios. If they are "Amateur radios" why would you not use the IARU...

By IARU recommendations, yes. Totally reasonable. On the radio I have here the tone is quite good at that level. I am getting a SINAD meter in a few but if I had to guess on my 955 it sounds like it's at least an 8 to 10 but my hearing may deceive me. I will wait for the instrument.

    Damn boys, we’re famous!

I am sure you guys know this but the radio and generator are in a more or less closed system, too. I have a 955, turned on a generator and went as low as .04uV and still could hear the tone barely at 30% I THINK I can hear it at .03 but I know I can at .04 and with no noise blankers or anl...

More "do as I say not as I do" Fine Tunes scams. So we get... "Mikes radio repair said something wrong or did something wrong" so he scams! When you pull that out your desperate.

    Damn boys, we’re famous!

Totally not worth it. This is what we have... "S9" is nonsense because that's the only time these meters even read properly, and therefore are pointless. So you have a meter that is right only at one point in the scale but that's a "calibrated meter"... riiiiiiiight. Ignore all the other points...

    Damn boys, we’re famous!

To be fair to him and anyone else that does radios that if you cannot preserve a chain of custody or somehow establish some proof he was the last person to put the screws back into the cabinet.. it's all hearsay. This is not a courtesy they extend to half of the people they bash.. but its the...

    Damn boys, we’re famous!

He wants to nit pick so I returned the favor. :) Yes, there is more to the meter movement than the current but they seem to think that it's all about voltages.... See their arguments about MOSFETs vs BJT devices.
  15. M

    Damn boys, we’re famous!

WRONG! It's CURRENT that dictates how much it deflects. NOT VOLTAGE. Ever wonder why they have a current rating on the face of these meters?

    Damn boys, we’re famous!

Just so I understand... This "20 miles" being arbitrary is the deciding factor? Not temperature, humidity, relative elevation, atmospheric conditions.... Just "20 miles" causes a meter to slam? What about 19 or 21 miles? I think you need a lesson in what an s-meter is, how it works, and why...

Scary Snake Radio "Setting Up" President Lincoln II V3

I can hear how distorted the one radio is. And he is still telling people to check the SWR using the internal meter with the amp on. Never learns.

    Damn boys, we’re famous!

I think you know you will never get one if they know it's for you or anyone that might actually check. This is why it's done via Facebook, phone calls to the buyer, and referrals from a previous buyer. He wants to know who is getting it and where it's going. It's not about selling radios. It's...
