Golly me... the specs say "60+" And I never said it "sounded" nasty. it is a harmonic rich radio. It's PA is only two MOSFETs that are easily overdriven. It's not the best design.

Might be the 497. I have a couple 955s and they will do a lot more power but it's pretty nasty.

100 watts is a sign it's been screwdrivered. Much over 50-60 watts and it's absolutely nasty.

I was going to point out the meter not moving part but I have not seen him obscure things like some others do. His technical skills are lacking and a lot of what he is doing is ignorance on fire so I think it's more likely they made a nugget mistake and had the mic gain down or something.

I want to see that. The only one I found was edited for comedic value that I didn't care for.
