    Anytone 6666 on FM

Wow! I wouldn't even consider a 203 behind a 6666! Too much swing even with the power turned down. FM is hard on finals if you're not set up right. I just made my first FM contact from Ohio to Arizona mobile with just 50 watts. A 6666 will do that without any help. It’s you're stuff, do as you...

    Stryker 955 V 2

If it works as good as the 5555NII it's badass! JD

    Anytone at-5555n II (version 2)

FYI.....turned the 5555NII on today in the cold truck and the display was not happy! Was all good after about 5 minutes. Whew! JD

    RigExpert AA-35 Zoom

When I setup a new antenna on the truck I try to check at the antenna first. If I can hook the analyzer directly with a barrel(?) connector, good. If not I use a 3 foot jumper. When it's the best I can get it, I then check it at the radio. Has worked fairly well for me. BTW the 55, besides...

Farthest 11 meter DX contact and equipment used?

    Anytone at-5555n II (version 2)

I must say, after running a 5555NII since July, it is one of the nicest radios I have ever run in the truck! The controls that you normally use are well laid out, the display is excellent day or night. The RX with DSP is great. I get many unsolicited kudos on the AM audio (Astatic 636 with a...

    11 meter is very quiet?

Well............just for shits and giggles, I took the 5555NII out of the truck and took the 6666 for a spin this week. Finally made some decent DX contacts Friday! Best one was 163 mobile in Wales, England! Also made a couple others, Northern Alberta and Idaho! I was about 40 miles south of...

    Effect of Ice on SWR

BTW the SWR was off the chart! Tried keying up and the radio said "Aw hell no"! JD

Your guys favorite fiberglass antenna choices

My 6 foot Skipshooter iced up last winter one day and it made moves side to side that were unreal! Definitely a strong antenna. JD

    Effect of Ice on SWR

You should see what ice on a 6 foot Skipshooter tilted 45 degrees does to it! At 67mph, I never saw an antenna move side to side like that! If nothing else these antennas are strong! JD

    Skipshooter Antenna Nail Rust!

You ever try to get one out without destroying the antenna? JD

    11 meter is very quiet?

Freeband is the answer! The CB band is only going to get worse as conditions improve this cycle. IMHO. JD

    Anytone at-5555n II (version 2)

These radios will swing to damn near full power from a low DK! Some folks just can't resist wrecking a perfectly good radio with golden screwdriver ideas! JD

    Anytone at-5555n II (version 2)

Scott seems like a stand up guy. I just had an email conversation with him and he didn't try to sell me something I didn't need. I would definitely do business with him when the need arises. I've considered trying out the KPO mic but I've gotten nothing but flowers using a 636 with a little bit...

    Anytone at-5555n II (version 2)

I have a Top Gun Quad 5, a 5555 clone, and I like it a lot! One of my favorite features is the ability to program 60 channels per band with the software. Unfortunately it doesn't have the DSP feature of the newer versions, but I have a speaker for that! West Mountain CLRSPKR. JD

    Anytone at-5555n II (version 2)

My Quad 6 will skip a bit here and there but nothing like my v1 955! The 5555NII is light years ahead of both regarding the channel selector! JD
