    Watt meter

I'm looking for recommendations for a reasonably priced (under $150) peak reading watt meter. If a decent one exists at that price point. Thank you. JD

    Anytone at-5555n II (version 2)

Has anyone noticed if you put the radio in frequency mode via the menu the channel selector acts like a vfo? No need to change bands! JD

    Anytone at-5555n II (version 2)

Got mine this week! Just got home from work since Tuesday and it was waiting for me! Was just fiddling around with it a bit trying to learn it and I did notice the echo, through the talk back, is CRAZY! Lots to learn this weekend and it'll probably be in the truck Monday morning! JD

I am so close to getting one of these 5555N II's it's driving me crazy! I'm just waiting to hear about 955v2 type problems and so far so good! JD

    Anytone at-5555n II (version 2)

I would think the 6666 or Stryker 955 cable would work. I have flip flopped cables between those two radios with no issues. The older 5555 cable basically plugs into the board so it wouldn't work. Just my humble observations! JD

    Anytone 5555 identification.

I believe that the versions with the new smaller, no physical adjustments inside boards have cooling vents on the covers. Problem is you would have to see the actual radio (or a photo) to tell. Many places selling these (and the new Strykers) are using old photos so buyer beware! JD

    Anytone at-5555n II (version 2)

OK........inquiring minds want to know. How is the AM performance? Will it have that BIG radio sound?(See avatar for the reason I'm asking) Ease of operation mobile? Is it truly basically a Stryker 955 without the bling? I am accustomed to running menu driven radios, ie. 6666, quad5. Was never...

    Anytone at-5555n II (version 2)

Call me crazy............but I'll bet the cable for a Stryker 955/Anytone Quad 6 would work. JD

    Stryker 955

The v2 955 is very intriguing but for my money I'm probably going to wait and see if the Top Gun Quad 5 gets the new board. Yeah the side mic can be an installation problem but I found the 955 was a bit tedious to adjust on the fly. Changing bands is a PIA if you like to freeband. The ability to...

    Stryker 955

Good question! The big advantage I see with v2 is they'll be easier to convert and use straight out of the box! No need for someone's fat fingers and screwdrivers! Of course @undertaker has to take it out of the box! LMAO! JD

    11 Meter Forum Call Channel

I don't recall, but in the early days I think a vast majority of the members were "freebanders" and it worked out well. JD

    11 Meter Forum Call Channel

I remember back in the early (Charger383) days of this forum we used to use 27.475LSB as a forum call channel. Is there a reason that fell by the wayside? That was 2 skip cycles ago and there was a boatload of forum members and others on it all day long. I was nice to get away from the "SSB...
