Is this a Cobra 135 A or B?
The xtal boards are different.
The A series converts with a single xtal replacement.
My radio had a simple relay that switched out the xtal hot sides, and left them with common grounds. x311. Change to a 13.000mhz xtal gives from ch 26 to CH 55.
x311 should be a...
Display Caps
Hi,
Got your email, I will reply as I have here.
There are 3 electrolytic caps on the Display board.
you probably should try replacing all 3.
see: Uniden HR2510 Service Manual

C502 - 3.3uf
C503 - 100uf
There can be other issues but this is the best...
Still having the AM power issue. It is actually 200w in both High and Low power.
I have replaced both VR9 and VR8 but no difference. I am guessing the power regulator stage for AM is the culprit.
Anyone have a Transistor voltage chart for the power Regulator ckt?

You say the 7805 is putting out 10v? what happens if you lift the output leg? is it still 10v?

Power loss
Did you get this solved?
Does it drop during xmit?
If so It may need to have an insulator installed between the final and the heatsink.
It is a common issue, the Chassi ground and Power ground meet at the uninsulated final mounting tab. I have seen this cause gradual loss of...
power
Does it transmit, can anyone hear you?
I have seen the meters go wacky, from loose board mounting screws, Start by making sure they are tight. All board screws. Main and CPU boards.
If it isnt xmitting it may be a couple of bad Capacitors.
I could direct you where to check, or...
Original SAMS CB tuning manuals
I have one question:
Has anyone ever seen a SAMS CB manual that ever mentioned 'SWING' when performing a tuning procedure?

ANy thing
Hello,
I am wondering what I am doing wrong..
I have a 200 with a blown driver, (2nd time) It is now out of warranty, and the last time it was repaired in warranty.
This time I have replaced the RD16hhf1 and performed the Driver Bias adj.
SSB operates normally 10w/40w but...
Hello
The center pin on the regulators is usually ground. If you are getting 10v out of a 5v reg, some thing is not right, check the caps across the input an output on the regulator. they can go bad and produce noise, oscillation if you will. and appear to be higher voltages. (still not...

One more thing
Well now that I got that fixed, I need more info on the NightWatch lighting.
This one does not light up. The meter and display lights and dims with the pushbutton control, but the NightWatch backlighting does nothing.
I have the Schematic (Near Schematic) from CBtricks for...
Pinchy Audio
Bob,
You were right on! I replaced C90 with a different value, and SSB audio came up slightly and the bass response was much better. I have to determine what value I ended up with.
C90 is a 2200PF, I tried a 220 pf cap but had no notable change, I have bag of SMT Caps and...
2510 audio Problem.
Try this,
Replace C95 and C98 - Both are 10v capacitors and should be replaced with 16v or 25v capacitors. [Keep the Microfarads the same as they are. - 470us and 47uf]
the 2 caps are in the audio circuit, and usually leak or short internally, causing all kinds of...
