To answer your question.. Lol After recapping and alignment .. I'm keeping it down around 5 watts she moduates to around 16 am close to 30 ssb.. I also replace some resistors with metal film and better replace ceramic disc with tantalium caps.. Made a notable change .

This is on my workbench where I do all my stuff this is the only radio that does it .. Low output audio on transmit . The static is at full volume .. No controlling it with any controls .. Mic gain volume squelch pa.. Any other radio is fine.. Definitely just this radio . I'll test the chip...

Have it dead keying around 7 .. 18 with modulation on am.. In the process of nof recapping .. I'll retune it when I'm done and see what it does

If I'm ordering individually I buynfrom NTE along with most of my semiconductors.. As I've gotten cheap/fake Chinese knockoffs from ebay tht didn't work .. Nte backs up thier product .. If you get a bad transistor they will refund or replace it at no charge
