Ya. I think its a bad idea. Not that I think FM is bad but I think its going to divide an already small user base.
Legal radios will be ±2 kHz deviation. Arnt the current 10 meter radios all 5 at least? I looked in my LincII+ and saw nothing for narrow/wide.
Adding tone squelch could be fun...
Delta has an external counter that works fine for AM. Wouldn't help you on RX but at least you could find where you are by clicking the PTT. It can hook inline or read off the air.

What does it dead key on your meter? 10? I am not expecting big numbers out of this. I never upgraded the fuse from 15 amps and it hasn't popped that yet.
That yellow radio has nicer paint then any of my cars :ROFLMAO:
If your on a computer use the youtube built in Closed caption auto translate. It works enough to figure things out.
I know he does speak/write english so if you wanted one of his custom's for your lowrider you could call him up...
I dont know. I was pressed for time so I just popped the resister in and slammed it in the truck. Didn't really get a chance to poke around the radio or measure its performance. I downloaded the software and want to play with that for sure. I only really miss the good working ASQ in SCAN mode...
Well like 999 said that 110 alt isn't 110 until higher RPM. It may be a lot less at idle and with the heat and everything else it may be right at the limit. If you kick the idle up a few hundred RPM and the problem goes away then you might be able to swap on a smaller pulley to shift that number...
Usally the bigger the alt the less efficient it is at idle. If everything else is up to snuff then maybe you could take a page from the hotrod guys playbook and start playing with underdrive/overdrive pulleys...
Who made the alternator? Did they give you a dyno sheet with it?
My Linc's ASQ works no where near as good as it did on the McK. It misses a lot then cuts out strong signals. Its really the only thing I don't like about this radio. Hopefully they come out with a firmware update or something.
McK and Linc are "DIN" sized. Same as car stereo's
The 980 is Cobra 29 sized
Some tips I learned playing with the radio...Maybe you figured them out already or not. The radio does take some getting used to.
When you push the channel knob in it moves the little flat line under the freq digits...
Most of his video are "Powered By Ranger" now and he has ranger stickers all over> And all his custom work is mostly Ranger. So I think its a good bet he is an authorized dealer. Would be crazy to risk that passing knockoffs. And who would knockoff a low end Texas Ranger? If there was a...
Mine reaches about 200' before it starts getting iffy. They seem to be some proprietary thing rather then standard bluetooth so I don't think you will find some extender to work with them. Just open the squelch and go for a walk. I think you will find it goes well beyond the orbit of your truck...
Well was a good radio weekend here in CT.
Some friends of mine have been talking about getting on the air for awhile and finally decided to follow through. We drove down to Delta Electronics in NYC a few weeks ago and picked up a few A99's. Gathered some poles, mounts, ground rods etc and...
I have “both” set on my L2+.I talk where I hear. I talk to a lot of drifty guys I guess lol
I run it that way because I operate mobile and like to run the radio “Channelized”. I can barely see the little line under VFO frequency digit when I am looking at the radio normally, no way I can...
Welcome,
There are more to transistors then just PNP vs NPN.
What is the the part number of the transistor you took out and what is the part number of the one you are putting in?
Midland should work with the people who make the Echolink smartphone app and get their mics supported. I am sure there are bunch of those users who would go for this interface rather then talking in to a cellphone and dealing with the touch screen PTT at the same time.
