Ok, I didn't find anything on a 6 wire variant of this mic either. I have to think that the cord was replaced at some point. Check the connections inside the base to see what's connected and go from there.

This is the schematic for the HDV 250 and 350. Note that the switch (mounted on the rear of the cabinet) only controls the delay cap with no power level setting. This is how they manufactured the HDV 2 transistor amps for decades.

There is nothing wrong with the amplifier, it is functioning as designed. There is a power stage coupled with the delay on the standard amps.

And the PLL isn't even listed on the schematic. I had to look at the block diagram to see exactly what it is.

I looks like a standard galaxy/ranger pll MC145106, but it's being controlled by the processer on the board behind the channel board. Not sure what to tell you here. Oh NOMAD!!!... Got anything for this?

And why are they making anything without FM anymore? ESPECIALLY a SSB radio.
