Hi guys, In my area we have a Group-Owned Linked GMRS Repeater network that covers a huge area. Some of the machines use PL tones while a few use the so-called "Wouxun" CTS tones that read like D023N - which is Code #1 on the list. The repeater nearest me is one that uses these stated tones. I...
Forget my above post and the TYT radio. Just sold it. Will be using an Icom 2730A dual bander. Easy to mod by removing 2 diodes. Does 50 watts thru 470mhz after the mod.
Forget this hooey. Have sold the TYT and have coming an Icom 2730A from HRO for $309 ..... which I should have done in the first place. Pop the cover and 2 diodes and I'm good.
Not surprised that this combo sounds good. When I'm ready to get my next HF rig again it will be a 7300. They have so many menu adjustments available on the TX they can easily be adjusted to sound really good on AM and even with the factory hand mic. Of course can sound great on SBB with...
This Trucker Cb Sales here is at $369 on them ..... too high. Quick search I didn't see anyone else selling them yet .... I'm sure they'll be coming along in time.
My saga continues. Wanting to open up the permissions (MARS/CAP) mod on my 2023 TYT9800. Still haven't finished trying - have one more Software Set to try when a friend can make time to come over with his Windows laptop and try it for me.
In the meantime, I wrote back in and asked them if they...
So I got one of these and I'm very impressed with the performance. Has much better RX audio out the on board speaker than my 1st 5K. Power on VHF/UHF is said to be upped to 7 watts from 5 but I have no way to test that. RX AM/FM/USB from 18.0 ~1.3G as stated. AM Air Band RX is terrific.
The...
RX Only Wideband - but ready to go out of box 18mhz~ 1.3Ghz. For those who don't have the capability to reprogram themselves.

Hi guys, One of these days I'll break down and buy a PC Laptop to use for Chiner Radio Programming but not doing yet. Yeah I'm in the computer age and all but use an iMac desktop. I have a local ham friend who tries to do this stuff for me but he stays super busy with work & family and hard to...
If I can ever get my friend with a PC laptop to come over and try the other software that Radioddity sent me, I would be using my TYT 9800. Antenna is the monster 17' Diamond X510 VHF/UHF that is very broadbanded on uhf. Low SWR thru the 470's
I have a DuroMax 3,500W Honclone. Just love the thing. Must be clean power. Have run computer, TV's off of it while powering the other things. Never any issues. Large California Grade muffler runs quiet. 4 gal. tank runs all day and into the night. 7HP.
I do the gas generator thing mostly for Storm Power Outages. Switch to LED bulbs for lighting .... at 5-7-9-11 watts per bulb .... you can light up the whole neighborhood.
