Whenever I see anything about grounding my A99 on the 20ft TC pole it is on, it seems like there comes a point of divergence. One school of thought is the obvious, I am "grounding" against a lightening strike....CRAP...which right now there is a pretty nice thunderstorm goining on right now...

Why 1khz sound? How accurate or close to 1 khz would it have to be? What if the sound was 4khz or 10 khz?

So i can use either model to verify tx freq. at my base station? And I won’t need anything else like a dummy load?

Oh dear, I think this discussion is way above my understanding. I just wanted to verify my TX freq. but it seems until I have more of an understanding of the radio language that you speak (LOL), will just have to lump it hahaha. We come in peace!!!

Well then there is no need to get the 10-ga when I can just get the 8-ga straight down the mast to the grounding rod.

there is not much difference in price. i will attach 10-ga solid copper grounding wire to this and loosely coil up my mast. sound like a plan?

This seems to have an antenna that measures field strength? Is this when one would need a dummy load?

how many of you have a freq. meter? What is an affordable model? on my radio, a modification was installed decades ago when the NB button is depressed , an additional set of frequencies are realized.
