I just got a 959 and powered it on test it. The channel display, frequency display and meter light are all not working. Seems kind of odd that they would all be burnt out on a radio not even 10 yrs old. Anything I could check to make sure I don't buy new parts for nothing?
Well I picked the Conar up for $20 so I'm not worried about it. I thought it was a good deal and now I have something while I wait for a good price on a b&k 2040.
Your post couldn't of come at a better time. I was just about to ask if I needed a rf sampler. Thanks for linking the unidapt one for me. Looks like one more thing added to the shopping list. This information was very helpful.
Need some entry level oscope and counter suggestions. I'm trying to stay under $100. I will be using it for cb and 10 meter. I know Tektronix and HP are really good but how about tenma or Hitachi?
399,
Yes your are probably right. I just liked the fact of the cb42 being an all-in-one type setup. Looks like I will start looking for separate pieces to start putting a bench together.
Thanks for the replies. I will try using another radio with headphones. So I just plug them into the ext. speaker jack and don't use an antenna?
I checked that website out. Thanks
Hello,
How can I hear what my radio sounds like on transmit? I would like to actually hear for myself instead of just asking for a "radio check" over the air and seeing what people say. What piece of equipment do I need or can I use another cb I have laying around?
