strange o-scope probe. what is he referring to here?

The octopus tester or as we like to call it "curve / signature tracer" is a great tool to have on any techs bench. Handy piece of gear for testing components and circuits if you have no schematic. I recently built one in an old low band width scope ( 500 KHz). This made a useless piece of...

Funny seeing a schematic I drew many years ago here on this. Nomad is spot on. I have worked on tons of these years ago. No I do not anymore. Since you amp is tube regulated (0A2 or 0B2 the two small tubes) I have attached a picture of the location of the diodes that have fell out. Later amps I...

Is 2 meter and other bands all dead all the time?

Well all I can say is do not base this experience on ham radio. V/UHF has been declining for years. I see repeaters sit idle for days only hearing the ID transmit. At certain times during morning and late nights your all mode may come to life. I have worked stations from NC to NY on 2 meter...

    100 mhz scope question

It has already been done. Several times in fact. You have to think outside the box a bit when searching for information on this,. Just remember cb is not the only radio service out there. Does not matter if it is a cb, ham radio, or broadcast, RF is RF. Take a look at Alans video here. I have...

    Kenwood radios ?...

I have always like the ssb audio quality of the TS-520. I have 3 of these. However I have grown to like the sound of my Yaesu FTDX 560. Rig really has a punch. And for AM, well the Johnson Ranger I and Viking II. Everyone should have a big Johnson..........
