GS35-B Tubes Glow In The Dark!

Very nice story... lol. I remember when we where playing with a double shot of N2O2, we had the first shot SUPPOSED to come on when the car got out of the gate... Then another shot about 30-40 yards down the track. WELL, someone decided to wire the first shot to the trans-brake trigger...

GS35-B Tubes Glow In The Dark!

Hrm, our mini-sprints and turf cars had to have them, but then again, we didn't use spindle wheels (single wheel nut). I come from spindle wheel background, with 4500+ hp behind it.... BUT, we only shifted 6 gears in 85 yards. In the sand :) EVERYTHING in that car had to have 'caged' or...

    TS500V???

You have to quadruple the output power to get 1 pound increase. SO, going from 2 watts of deadkey to 8, will give you 1 s unit increase..... Then to go from 2 to 3 S Units, you'd be talking going to 32 watts of carrier. I doubt your friends radio does 60 watts PEP, unless it has a stinger...

    Cobra 142 gtl Transmit problem.

I'll see if I have an IRF device still laying around. If so, I'll see what I can do about a relatively stock chassis.... SOMEONE in town has to have one they'll donate, I believe mine are all widebanded audio monsters with volted finals, etc. COULD be made to work, but would NOT be...

How could you pass tech then, not being able to wire the ends of bolts? Not to mention, wheel studs are required to stick out 2 inches of thread..... :) --Toll_Free

    Cobra 142 gtl Transmit problem.

That a challenge? Or, here... I'll let the cat outta the bag. You have to modify the bias circuit. Using a REAL zener diode, and set the circuit up accordingly. Those little 'circuits' consisting of a silicon diode and a pair of resistors fall apart when it comes to the dynamics of a class...

Browning Golden Eagle: MK3 vs MK4!

You're right... Duhhh.... LOL. The Baron, the LTD and a couple others. Still, NOT their own designs, when it came to 'top end'.... Their 'entry level' stuff, I've never seen any that survived, so I can't comment. I like finding the old Polycomm and other odd branded tube stuff. The...

    Mobile Coax

As others have pointed out, it's an antenna issue, not a coax issue. You can SOMETIMES mitigate the noise pickup on the antenna by using a choke across the coax terminals, BUT a lot of radios already have that put in. EVERY amp or radio I work on, I put a 10 mH choke across the antenna...

    Bumpin up to a 1k

BTW, IpxVp = INPUT power. Multiply that by about .6 and you get OUTPUT power :) The 450 is the MILLIAMPS. He's pulling about 1400 watts of input to get a grand of output. It's running just about right. He just doesn't understand the difference between milliamps and volts. --Toll_Free

    Voltage drop on a/c line

Almost every circuit breaker used in the United States up to about 2 years ago is under a non-recall replacement now. Your problem is going to be the little area in the circuit breaker that PINCHES the mains busbar. Those have been found at fault in SO many home fires that the NFPA...

NPC for AM Transformer radios is HERE... Tubed, Solid State, etc. ANY high level TX

I'll have to get a camera out that actually takes a decent pix of my scope. The cam phone I have does OK, but gets REALLY wavy lines through it. The problem is I use nearly ALL HID lights throughout the house. A 45-65 watt will put the light out that a 150-200 watt incandescent does, and...

    Bumpin up to a 1k

On 10 that's acceptable for output. The Ameritron line IS NOT KNOWN for efficiency on 10 meters. You can change the plate tank tap for that, but if you DON'T know what you're doing, I wouldn't. Can you check it on 40 meters, or even better on 80? Should produce about 1Kw to 1100 on 80...
