Ive played with the noise eleminators. Works alright for base but looking for a mobile idea. I have one in the mobile but it's just not very mpressive. My base I use a 100ft longwire for the noise antenna. On the mobile it's a 4'whip
I think I'd like to build a noise blanker like the one in the old grant xl radios. Does anyone have a good idea of figuring out the circuit? I suppose the schematic would be a place to start.
Your right. No cmc fix. I have the filter between the tuner and the antenna. I need to drag out the vna and see what it’s doing there and then move it to between the radio and the tuner and see.
I bought a rmitaly 27/586 filter looking to fix some issues. And it worked. 20m does not bleed over the surround sound anymore. The swr on all the bands have been improved and the auto atu does not have to tune near as much on my off center dipole. So the common mode currents have been handled.
I’m gonna do it. If it means cutting the piles down, so be it!! And omg the cheap ass lights on the dollar generals!!!!! And them things are everywhere.
I do have a phase eliminator. Works well. Just looking for more. And I’d love it if there was something? Anything? For mobile work to block out car leds, street lamp leds and just noise noise noise. Which is why I was wondering about a bpf.
I’ve been fooling with a yaesu that’s been giving me fits over the receive sensitivity. It only affected the 10, 12, 17 bands. It still had rx but unless I ran the preamp it was super low. Figured I had blown it. Instead of looking into it I felt super lazy because I figured it was all smd...
ok seriously, i dont know if its heavy enough. the amount of discharge energy from a resistor blowing apart can be immense. you have potential arc flash at the point of separation and shrapnel from the insulated rod.
we have both fo these radios. both work well, however, no matter if you use the built in speaker or an external speaker they dont sound all that great on ssb. it almost sounds like theres a dsp running or the filter isnt wide enough. anyone else notice this? is there a cure? biggest downfall of...
