I'm using a mag mount dual band vhf antenna on my car and it's fine. I wonder about adding a ground plane kit. I get the car is the groundplane. But its grounding through capacitance vs a real ground. So I wondered if the groundplane kit would improve the function. Works as it is, just want better.

I guess I'm bored. I've looked into dmr and that didnt do it for me. Didnt try it, just looked into it. Tried ft8, wasnt all that. Now thinking about aprs. But is it worth it? Just looking into different stuff.

Its neat. It's not. Depends on what you're into. But i think it's kinda neat. And with the right setup it would be comparable or better than ft8 to me
