I think I have that Same MFJ 3kw tuner. I got lucky and picked it up for $80 last year at a local auction. works well. And 10+ points for that computer power center on the left.. I got 4 I think, but only have 1 of them here with me. I buy them anytime I see them out in the wild.

RTTY and CW using computer hookup issue

I put back up my 40m dipole and the antenna tuner. Will be ready to try to see if we can PSK31 some day when we get your setup going.

RTTY and CW using computer hookup issue

Here is the latest one I believe of FLDigi... I have not messed with it, but barely got it installed. Same Idea I suppose as Digipan, but fancier. https://sourceforge.net/projects/fldigi/files/fldigi/fldigi-4.2.04_setup.exe/download Windows itself will complain about it being an unknown...

RTTY and CW using computer hookup issue

Rigblaster pro is before USB was really a big thing. That is ok. FlDigi is strange and if you are going that far, install Ham Radio Deluxe and be done with it lol. I need to dig up the last free version of Ham Radio Deluxe.

The good o'l days of USA

Class... That is what was left behind. :) 38 Years young here but always enjoyed seeing the early to mid 1900s era. Recently enjoyed watching these videos where they add sound and do their best to restore the color. Added some frames per second so it appears smother. Kinda cool to give you a...

I hear ya. It was probably a good thing I never gave into the Plug n Pray device. They came out where it seemed they needed to familiarize themselves more with USB stuff.

RTTY and CW using computer hookup issue

The plug and play I never had. As long as they work they do ok. I did build a simple PTT device back in 2017 that I still use today. This way I could wire whichever radio to it with a simple RCA cable lol. Ghetto fabbed but it did the job.

RTTY and CW using computer hookup issue

Just had chance to hook it up, and it was doing the same thing and keeping the PTT active, so go back to your serial settings, and uncheck 'DTR as PTT'. and click ok. Hopefully now you can trigger the ptt properly when you click the T/R button.

RTTY and CW using computer hookup issue

The Mic input may be sensitive and over drive the audio, so keep an eye out on the levels... You may need to select the microphone input on Digipan in the Sound card settings if the mic input isnt set to default in windows itself. Otherwise, you are for sure set on connections. Yes, when you...

RTTY and CW using computer hookup issue

We will prevail lol. I did just now dig out my Rigblaster pro... I forgot it was missing the power adapter as the wall wart itself was toast, so cut the cord and went directly 12v into the power supply. I think I still have it wired up for my Icom 756 Pro II. Here is a quick video to at least...

RTTY and CW using computer hookup issue

FLdigi I am not sure what changed. I havent used it in years, and when I go to download the latest, it goes to some goofy FlAmp?? No idea.. Lets test some other program. There is an ancient program called Digipan from the stone age, but the thing still works. It is good enough to at least see...

RTTY and CW using computer hookup issue

Ahh. So at least you got the rig blaster to key the radio, that is about half the battle. Least the serial port is needing to do what it needs to do. As of now, the PK232 is just refusing to do anything as its not even sending data back to your PC. Best we focus on your Rigblaster. :) Least you...

RTTY and CW using computer hookup issue

Even an old dial-up external modem can work to test lol. To see if we can punch in commands to the modem. Just need to rule out the serial port is actually communicating.

RTTY and CW using computer hookup issue

For some reason I am not getting notifications here. :( This is the 2nd time this happened to me. I was on the lookout for your thread but I missed it. Is there some other serial device we can hook up to at least to see if you can even get any data coming out of your serial port? At any rate...

RTTY and CW using computer hookup issue

When you open with Putty and turn on the PK232, does anything ever come up? It should be outputting something at least to sign in, maybe pressing enter? But from what I gather, it may print junk up until it actually shows a * on the screen, then you press shift+8 on the keyboard to get the *...

What would be the reaction if Hams used 11m legally using their calls.

100%. I am for sure one who will use SSB on the Ham Radio bands. :) Never cared for AM. K7OTA waiving at ya! :)

RTTY and CW using computer hookup issue

We will figure your setup out. I assure you that. Just needs to be an easier way to talk real time and be able to view what you are connecting. :) I have a Discord, but otherwise no real way for me to get a hold of ya and help you troubleshoot.

What would be the reaction if Hams used 11m legally using their calls.

Most ham radios struggle to have any decent quality on AM. The one radio for sure that was good on AM is the Yaesu FT-101EE. :) Otherwise, you need to at least change stuff or mod the ham radio so AM can sound ok. I think there was some changes you can do to an Icom 718 to sound ok on AM. But...

What would be the reaction if Hams used 11m legally using their calls.

Do those radios suffer the ALC overload like the old President Jackson radios? I think it was mentioned the Lincoln II+ had the ALC issue when stronger stations come in, it sounds raspy/crackled.
