    Hex Beam Antenna

Thank you for the reply. I do not need a multi-band antenna as I only do 11 meter sideband. It gets so confusing with so many different types of antennas available. I now use a Sirio ground plane, Anytone AT6666 and KL203P and it works fairly well but I was wanting to get into some sort of...

    Hex Beam Antenna

Still no answer to my question. I was going to build my own anyway....... you can make it $5 and still not interested! I want to know how good they perform on long distance.... skip.

    Hex Beam Antenna

I have already looked at this before I made my post. It has nothing to do with answering my question. Why would I want to buy something I know nothing about??? Hence my question in the first place.

    Hex Beam Antenna

I have been reading a lot about the Hex Beam Antenna for several different frequencies but none listed for 11 meters. Is there a reason for this or are they just not popular for the 11 meter band? I enjoy talking CB SSB and where I live I seem to get quite a bit of noise and I thought maybe a...

    Noise

Still trying different things to track down the noise. I did hook the radio up to a battery and turned off the main breaker and the noise was still the same. I did notice one thing that puzzled me ; I have two radios that I can use on the same antenna. A Uniden 980 and a Anytone AT6666. The 6666...

    Noise

I contacted the power company and a guy came out yesterday.. He looked at the insulators from his bucket lift and really couldn't see anything he said. He checked the records and found out the pole in front of our house was installed in 1965. He said the porcelain insulators were the old type...

    Noise

I did call the power company and told them I thought I was getting noise from the power lines. They said they would notify our local repair crew and have them check it out. We will see what happens. I will have to check out a balun.... and yes the the mast is conductive and the coax is zip...

    Noise

I have heard that the power company will not do anything unless you have it located. How could I possibly do that?? do they have equipment to detect that.... apparently they do.

    Noise

I hope I haven't posted this before but if I have just ignore it. I have an AT 6666 and I seem to have a lot of noise on all frequencies, sometimes about a 7or 8 on the meter. My shack is a Little cubby in the corner of my Garage shop which is 100 ft from the house. I have turned everything...

    Anytone 6666 on FM

Mine is stock and I put a little 12V computer fan behind the heat sink on the radio. A WATT/SWR meter is on my Christmas list.

    Anytone 6666 on FM

I haven't hooked it up yet. I was hesitant about doing it. A good friend of mine thought it would be ok with the power turned down and it's not that I don't believe him. I was kinda waiting if anyone else has done it. Thank all for the replies.

    Anytone 6666 on FM

I know I can run the AT6666 on SSB with my KL203P by turning the Output power down but didn't know if it turns the power down on FM. I sure don't want to blow my amp!
