Did the squeal ever get resolved know an old post but having same problems with a noise toy box that squeals with high power.
plastic box
4 pin cobra mic wiring.
low regular power but if an amp is used then the squeal/rf feedback.
Anyone find a fix for this problem??
I see mentioned many times about adding low channels to the cobra 29s with out an expo kit or xtals.
Might be with the current pll on board.
Would anyone have the info or directions on doing this mod for low channels.
thanks
Dark star if you install the Expo kit for the 148 radio again you will only be able to tune the radio for AM channels as the xtals for the ssb channels will not tune the ssb range I went through all of this and have a post on here about tuning in for the ssb channels. I have the Expo A kits and...
yes checked out the mic contacts and all are good also cleaned them. Im sure its the element as there is not ohm readout on it. As that was a question i posted is there suppose to be some reading across the element post.
Went to fire up the turner plus 3 mic and no audio.
changed the battery and the same.
I removed the element and ohmed it out and nothing.
Should there be some reading across the 2 terminals of the element.
Has anyone replaced the element with something else as I have tried to locate an...
Just checked JP29 and it gets 8v when mic is keyed.
J36 14.5 volts and when keyed jumps to 17-19 volts like it fluctuates
I did change TR20 near L23 and still nothing
Radio pa works great plenty of audio.
Radio has plenty of up down audio loud.
Rf gain works
Squelch works
everything works...
Thanks for the replys.
So the radio has plenty of audio volume works and the meter shows some activity but not any true receive. There is no output either.
When I key up another radio the 29 meter will drop back to zero un key other radio and the 23 meter will move up some again not true...
I did both are good and would that stop the receive from working, I can see if shorted but both show good. I feel its in a mixing stage where receive and transmit come together but just cant seem to find the problem. Most likely radio will end up as a parts radio soon LOL
Seems the radio just quit RX and TX
I get volume
every thing works squelch rf gain but no tx and rx.
I tried a radio keyed next to it and nothing.
The 29 meter is seeing static noise but when I key the other radio the 29 meter goes back to zero.
I have green light and red light when i...
Has anyone have the Expo 100 channel kit installs and radio list copied from the Original CB trick site would appreciate info or where to get it. I did download the rar file from page 24 but did not have that section for the Expo channel kits.
thanks
I need the mic to key the relay closed for a split second, then relay shuts off but keep the mic still keyed. The split second will close the relay and will send a short using 1 pole when keyed to 2 wires on the module to make it work. The module needs a split second to short 2 wires but also...
Correct no mods to the radio.
Well the box will have 12 volt going to it but still need something from the 4 pin mic connector to set the rely off for 1 second.
The Module inside the box just needs a negative pulse to set the module working. So I have one pole on the relay to control that when...
No latching relay just need the relay to trip for 1 second. I already have it working with external power works great just need to get it to work with external to the radio project will be built in to a small project box with mic in and mic out to radio and the audio board and relay will be in...
The relay will not be in a mic it will be external in a project box and have an audio module that needs a relay to have it set for key up instead of doing it manual.
Im building a project of an audio board and it needs a fast relay to be on and off like 1 second to trip the module. Like I said I have the timer circuit of 1 second and all works great with external voltage of 5-12 volts. So if i hit the timer circuit with the say 8 volts external the relay...
Anyone out there ever try to key a 12v or 5 volt relay with a cobra 4 or 5 pin mic external to the radio.
Like doing a project that needs a relay to key it up when the mic is keyed. I have the circuit of a 1 second pulse to key the relay and shut back off in 1 second.
Problem is on the cobra 4...
there are no options for that and if this is Benny back up I emailed him last time to add that as many people would help to keep the site up but he never did add the donation option. So as I asked earlier dont know if this is Benny or someone else hosting the site.
So is this Benny putting the site back up or someone else.
In previous post there was 2 new urls so can we find out if its Benny or is it someone else?
