My neighbor has a 751A & he refuses to get rid of it. He doesn't use it very often because he has an ICOM 7800, ICOM 7300,KX3,& several other radios but he swears that the 751A is one of the Best HF transceivers he has ever owned. I know that it sounds great with the ICOM SM-8 desk microphone on...
I am attempting to sell a bunch of radios from a friends estate & his Yaesu FT-900 will not receive or transmit. It comes on but does nothing else. I saw a post online about this same issue but it says something about a diode that fails that can cause this but they make no mention of what diode...
Call Cal at hamrepair.com in Texas. He's a great tech & he has great repair rates. He will also give you a quote before he does any repairs if you like & if you don't want to spend the money he will return it as is. He has done many repairs for myself & local friends.
I had a 17B2 & the support arms for the boom broke in 6 months. I went back to my 215WB that is 30 years old & it's never failed me & I believe it's the Best 2 meter beam that Cushcraft ever built. I also had a couple of 13B2 beams & they all had issues with water in the Black matchbox & the SWR...
Remember that it's a Cheap meter so don't expect it to perform like a quality SWR Wattmeter. I use them for target practice at the Gun Range & they work great for that. For about the same money you can buy a Diamond that is a far better meter. I have had a lot of the Dosy meters & all were very...
I had a friend who wired a TUG9 D-104 for me for the M700 PRO or M710 and it sounded Terrible on both radios.I tried many different heads and all were terrible so everyone will not waste their time or money in the future.
There is a Tuning pot inside the radio that is adjustable so never trust the internal meter. A Dosey is not a good wattmeter but it's OK for just SWR readings.
I have owned the ICOM 746,746 PRO,756 PRO II, and 7600 prior to the 7700 so I find it Very Simple to operate.I really do Love Big Radios with lots of buttons and knobs so it’s the perfect radio short of the 7800 if I need more of them. It’s really a Fun radio to operate and I’m blessed that I...
So many parked on 50.125 calling for hours so it appears they don't understand the etiquette. You will not be popular when you do this. They obviously don't understand what Calling Frequency stands for? N0VRM is there now & he has been for about an hour or more? {:>(
I'll be listening for any New Grid Squares ONLY.I quit Contesting long ago & I Rarely even log a QSO unless it's New Grid or Entity & that's Very Rare as well. I find contesting as boring as Nets & FT8 & I'd rather have all of my teeth pulled without any pain killers being used.If you like it...
