    ANYTONE AT-6666 Best Price ??

We've had the V4 CRT SS9900 & AT6666 for a good while now here in the UK. I recently returned a V4 CRT SS9900 back with faults out of the box, & exchanged it for a President McKinley. There's lots of reports of the 9900 malfunctioning over here after a while, but there's also similar reports...

I pick up the Tarzan noise here in the UK occasionally, as well as the usual hola hola coca cola guys.

    President McKinley Personal Review

I notice they're tiny. I've got the usual plastic trimming tools here, but they're definitely going to be far too big for this job. This slot headed trimmer tool is the smallest I have, so if this will be no good for the job an heads up on some good for the job would be much appreciated -...

    President McKinley Personal Review

This is great, thank you. Those trimmers (VR) look minuscule, so I'm not sure my trimmer tools will be upto the job at all. Anyone opened one of these up to see what trimmer tools are required for the job? Looking at this layout, would I be right in thinking that this would be the "only" one...

    President McKinley Personal Review

Hi Jeff, It was a V4. The SWR readings were well out of whack compared to my calibrated meters, and the SWR high cutoff function didn't function unless the rig power was turned up to around 20W+. As I use all my rigs at around the 4 > 7W output, the lack of SWR warning function was a problem...

    President McKinley Personal Review

The McKinley arrived today, and sweet it is, too. The roger beep low modulation issue would appear to be remedied, as the one on mine is set to a good level. I need some help, though. On low power on FM with minimum setting, I get 6W - but when I go to the minimum setting I only get around 2W...

    President McKinley Personal Review

I've just purchased one of these today, so I expect it to be here tomorrow or Thursday at the latest. I believe the EU version I have has got a few more features than the US variant, but I know it's definitely got a decent black heatsink on the rear of ours. I originally bought a CRT 9900...

Zetagi & RM Amplifier input power limits

For the most part, please disregard post #4. I have all of the aforementioned Amplifiers minus the B300. On FM, 4 > 5W reaps around ~80W ÷/-10% out from the KL200/203. Anything more goes into serious compression - and I definitely wouldn't be offering 12W SSB, particularly with the KL200...

CRT SS9900 (Anytone 6666) High SWR warning issue

Many thanks for the great response as always, @Handy Andy. I was going to have a look inside this if it was a possible easy fix, but with what's been mentioned it sounds like a faff so I refrained. The "dropped radio" is a distinct possibility, because this Radio was sent in its original box -...

CRT SS9900 (Anytone 6666) High SWR warning issue

Cheers as always for your good input, Andy. I'll have a peep inside my rig tomorrow around the Toroid area. If all seems in good shape, is there any modification I can do to this "SWR sensing" area to bring the readings more inline with the correct SWR readings as seen by a good external SWR...

CRT SS9900 (Anytone 6666) High SWR warning issue

I purchased mine also in the UK from the well known auction site. I'm led to believe it's the latest V4.

CRT SS9900 (Anytone 6666) High SWR warning issue

I just purchased a CRT 9900, and although all functions work, the SWR warning issue (Tsr) is problematic. On low power (FM/AM) even with Antenna completely disconnected, there is no warning and no auto' rig cutoff at anything between 1.5W to 20W. When RF power is 20W or more, though, the high...

    RM KL503 & SSB compatibility

Superb explanation there, @Handy Andy Why do you think some KL505 amplifiers use 22R, then mine uses 11R (2 x 22 ohm in parallel)? Not a lot more to say about this KL505, but it really is pretty decent, and reminds me a lot of a Zetagi B550P that I once had. The output power is pretty much...

    RM KL503 & SSB compatibility

Anyone know what purpose these 2 x 22 ohm Resistors in parallel serve? On some KL505 units there's only 1 x 22 ohm, but in other's, including mine, there's 2 in parallel.

    RM KL503 & SSB compatibility

I'm not convinced they are SD1446, even though they're labelled as RM SD1446. As far as I'm aware, the SD1446 was obsoleted a while ago. Furthermore, the SD1446 is capable of easily doing around 80W, so 4 x SD1446 would do 320W if pushed - but no more than ~240W will be achieved from the...

    RM KL503 & SSB compatibility

The instructions for this say 7W is optimum, but it accepts 10W maximum before compression occurs. I'm quite impressed with it, and glad I ditched the KL503 now.

    RM KL503 & SSB compatibility

The 505 arrived today & works a dream on 11m, @Handy Andy. Sounds great on SSB, uses 4 x RM SD1446 Transistors, and here are the results: 4w in = 150w out, 5w = 180w, 6w = 200w, and 7w = 220w out. I didn't want to push it anymore than 7 watts, and I only keyed for about 10 seconds then. Only...

    Anytone AT 6666

I plan on getting the CRT SS9900 which I'm led to believe is the same as the AT6666. There are plenty of reports of them getting very hot, so I intend to fit a couple of small fans on the heatsink somehow.

    RM KL503 & SSB compatibility

Hi Brad, I'm in the UK, but I bought mine from here - https://www.radioworld.co.uk/search/products?keywords=Kl505+ I've only just realised that the members here are predominantly based in the Americas - great forum, though, with a wealth of information.

    RM KL503 & SSB compatibility

Guys, I decided to ditch the KL503 & instead amend my order to a KL505. I'll no doubt purchase a KL503 at a later date, though, if the price is right. I'll update this thread on Monday when I've tested the Amp'.
