i remember when this happened.
There are newspaper articles out there on it or at least there used to be.
The kid was in a wheelchair if i remember correctly, and had been scamming people on ebay for quite some time before this happened.
scamming people who have your mailing address is not...
you can probably clean/repair the one you have if you're careful and clean about it.
I've probably written up the procedure on here before, but basically you need to use an exacto knife or similar implement and carefully cut around the "head" of those four white circles on the back of the...
congrats Jim!
i'll be listening for you and maybe this time we will both be able to hear each other LOL.

found this ad on ebay and to me it doesn't look "factory".
so, was there ever really a "president" D104 or is this a black and chrome that someone modified...
ok as promised, here is my story.
My ego still hurts to this day...
I had been wanting to try a certain antenna set-up for quite a while, and actually posted/asked questions here about it quite a bit.
Specifically what i wanted to do was to use an Astroplane style antenna on a fiberglass...
Funny you should bring that up right now Brandon.
here's a great story by the guru himself.
He is LUCKY to be alive.
i'll tell my antenna+lightning story when i have a bit more time.

kind of depends on what you are going to use that 13v for, but in general, pin 1 of the audio chip or pin 2 of the voltage regulator will be at VCC.

Cable Guy,
i built mine pretty much just like yours except i did all three ports.
im guessing that you omitted the "low power" RF port.
looks nice! i am a big fan of the "run what you brung" style of homebrewing.

i'll just add to Nomad's post to say that the PC board in the counter module is a double sided plated through board.
that means that the solder connection on the bottom of the board is also connected to a trace on the top of the board and they are connected with a tiny copper tube that goes...

i believe that thing would be over 100 bucks to ship one way.

It needs repair/restoration and i just can't ever seem to decide what tubes to use in it.
nomad has done very cool things with this...
