I was out of the CB world from 2002 to 2018. When I retired in 2018 and decided to get back into CB and wow, the choices and selections of CB base antennas were confusing. I was seventy-years old, and I was not prepared to tackle the assembly and tuning of base antennas, so.....I purchased a new...
I found this on another forum dated March 2021.
"Let me just say that this is a fairly easy setup, but one of THE most fickle antennas to tune on the 11-meter band. Much of that has to do with Hy-Gain's instructions, which are woefully inadequate and speak in absolutely ZERO detail about tuning...
A little humor here.
Today I read an article on the internet and seen a short video of a possible scam at a fast-food restaurant.
A customer purchased a few food items and a drink and paid with his credit card. When he entered to his vehicle and read the receipt, he noticed an additional...
No. My comment was related to interpreting / reading the meter. But, if you have used another SWR meter, I will withdraw my comment.
How many watts is the radio producing?
Maybe is has one of those "funky" two-piece PL-259 connectors that can be disassembled to make it easier to pass the coax through the firewall. Could be a disconnection there. Ask me how I know. Lol...lol.
Any inexpensive (cheap) LED lights and ballasts in the area?
The cheap LED lights in one of my cupboards emits a terrible noise to my radio when I turn-on the lights.
I noticed there is a set-screw retaining the 3/8" threaded stud at the bottom of the shaft / tube. There are no set-screws on my two 10K antennas.
It is obvious that the coils are not consistent. The diameter of the coil wire is 1/4" on all coils and the diameter of the coils are just about the...
I do not have the technique and equipment to post photos. I used the 27" lower tube / shaft to raise the coil above the roof because the antenna was mounted on the bed rail.
I purchased my single coil 10K in 2019 or 2020.
The coil definitely has 7-1/2 loops.
Length of coil is 6-3/4"...
Wow! The dimensions on my 10K are much different from what you have. The diameter of the stinger / whip on my antenna is 0.150" and all other dimensions do not match-up with what you have.
What we have here is two different types / configuration of the 10K.
The outside diameter of my stinger is 0.150".
I'm almost certain the diameter of your stinger is 0.125".
I have another 10K and the dimensions you have provided match-up with my other 10K.
We do not have a "apples to...
Total length / height from the bottom of Breedlove Mount Pc. #209 SO-239 Connector and Pc. # 203 Quick Disconnect = 3-3/8".
70-5/8" + 3-3/8" = 74".
74" is the total length / height from the bottom of Pc. #209 where the coax connects to the Corona ball at the top of the stinger.
That's all I got...
OK, I have taken the antenna into my house and assembled it as it would be on my truck.
TOTAL OVERALL LENGTH: FROM THE TOP OF THE CORONA BALL OF THE STINGER TO THE BOTTOM OF THE 3/8" THREADED STUD: 70-5/8".
Yes! My antenna has been tuned / trimmed and installed on my F350 stake pocket mount. This is why I used the 27" long bottom shaft to clear the roofline.
The overall length dimensions I provided to you are AFTER the stinger was trimmed.
Each application and assembly are unique. Maybe someone...
Yes! The image you posted has 6.5 loops.
Maybe the image is of a dual-coil antenna because they have a 6.5 loop coil.
My single-coil antenna has 7.5 loops.
I don't know what else to tell you.
