There are plastic pass-through grommets installed to prevent chaffing. A five-cent Zip-Tie would be better than nothing to prevent the cables from being pulled-out.
Yes, I realize it is not to secure the cable, I just did not know what it was. For crying-out-loud, it can't cost that much to use and install a watertight strain-relief grommet to ensure the cables don't get pulled-out.
New amp arrived and I was curious as to what type / name of the pills were installed. I removed the cover and found two defects as per the attached photos. Both cables are not secured to prevent them from being pulled-on the soldered connections. Any idea what the floating thick washer-looking...
Yes, but how about this new Made in USA amp? What is the purpose of the floating object / washer / insulator on the Hot cable? How about the gap where the Hot and Ground cables pass through?
With the cover removed the fans aren't too bad. With the cover on, the fans are pulling a vacuum on the aluminum plate through the vent slots. Very little air movement of a sheet of a paper towel is placed at the exit area of the fans. If the aluminum plate was only 1" above the finals, the fans...
Replaced OEM Power Supply with Mean Well LRS-450-15. Nine terminals as OEM. Looking down with terminals facing the back of the radio. Left to Right. Red, White, Green, Blank, Blank, Black, Blank, Blank, Orange.

Another reply. The three phrases that scare me are, "they believe", "they do not think" and "I do not believe". No sense dragging this subject out because it is a win-win for the manufacturer and a lose-lose for the AMERICAN consumer.

And this is the recent / current reply from the "NEW" crew.

Hello I forwarded your email to the factory, and they responded telling me that they believe that due to the fact that the audio amp is rated at such a high power that the issue you have pointed out is not going to affect the...
Can you believe this reply from RCI? Give me a break! I replied asking if I have to pay to ship both radios to the RCI repair center.

I agree with you. At this point, drilling-out the screw threads and ensure the new drilled-out hole is perpendicular to the mounting surface is the best option to correct the problem. RCI needs to reach back to the assembly / production line dates when my radios were manufactured and either...
