Eddie, there is losses in any series oscillator because of the nature of the components we use. There are losses in the electronics of the front end and the finals, the coax, the antenna and back to ground. If you measured the losses from the oscillator all the way round and back again it is...
You say you have a 'happy meter'. You need to rephrase this to 'my meter is totally stoned'. If not, i'd like 20 meters of your RG8U over unity coax please.
What happens to the impedance and electrical distribution of a coil shortened quarter wave mobile antenna if you bend the whip half way so the top half of the whip is parallel with the roof of the car?
But adding a band horizontally joining all three legs electrically just like the basket band on a vector 4000 or lower half of a AP would add electrical length to each leg and even out inductance changes because of the missing leg. BUT...if each of the 4 legs on the AP has directional horizontal...
Just to clarify what i've written, I believe each leg of the top hat reacts just the same way as a loop antenna does so that its reactance is the same so its like having 4 loops 90 degrees to one another.
I see the AP as an hybrid. Electrically, it may resemble a J-pole or a sleeve type antenna but I think the top hat changes the angle of radiation by giving it directional gain. If you bent all the top hat legs upwards you would still have the same electrical length and it would still tune but I...
This will be mounted via a new method for me personally. The spider plane is not streamline enough in high winds and gets smashed about plus the radials are not long enough. I'm building a new telescopic mast as you know Bob85 and the Himalaya will be mounted to my 33mm inner part of the mast...
Bought one of these recently and thought i'd give it a quick write up.
Out of the box they are the smallest rig out there at 4x4x0.8 inches. I'd watched a few video's and read a little about them especially one from Simon the wizard who gave it a good write up. Paid £44 for this rig to the door...
.......And my momma taught me this. During your life you will meet people that are nice, people that are mean, people that are courageous and people that are cowards but the ones you ought to avoid are the one's that believe any kind of religion and spout absolute shite all over the planet. She...
Look at it this way Eddie: Some people seem to think that the impedance matching section and the shunted ground is the absolute end of their antenna transmission and everything below is of no significance. Which in essence is like saying the lower radiator of a dipole isn't important providing...
